Taking a car temporarily to Kenya

Early next year I will move to Kenya for three months and would like drive my car from Pretoria all the way up to Nairobi and use it there for the said period and then drive it back to South Africa.
So I do not want to import a car to Kenya but to use it there temporarily.
Can anyone offer any guidance on this?

To the best of my knowledge, you can import a car, duty free for a maximum period of 6 months, after which the vehicle must be exported, or registered and duty paid.

I have seen quite a lot of SA registered vehicles on Kenyan roads. The South African AA has a useful guide on the documents that you need for choosing borders with a vehicle.
