Hello everyone,

Moving to Kuwait without your significant other can be quite difficult, especially since your partner is an undeniable source of support. This kind of move may require some adjustments from both parties in order to make it a successful one.

What is challenging about being in a long distance relationship in Kuwait?

How to maintain an adequate level of communication considering differing schedules and time zones?

How often would you travel to each other’s location to meet?

How do you manage to still have a social life in Kuwait?

What hurdles need to be considered if you have left behind children who are under the sole care of your partner?

Thanks for sharing your experience,
Bhavna

It's quite hard. Usually I  stay with touch with family by calling video. For kids, I ask them to send text book pics, study them in free time ,then I discuss with them, so that they feel attached .

Hi,

It is very difficult to have along distance relationship whether its with your partner, family, friends, children.....

I would recommend the following:
Children: I'd make a group chat on an app.  That that has helped me significantly.  Set timers to call your kids when they get up and go to bed.  It's easy for time to fly and forget the time differences.  Kids love the consistency of a text or a phone even if it is for a couple of minutes.

Partners: I'd try to call them as much as humanly possible.  That bond and connection can be strained  when you're away.  Video calls are way better than a voice call.

Friends: Even a simple "shout out" text is enough once in awhile.  Then when you go home, make time for them (e.g. lunch, dinner, coffee....).  That usually keeps the bond for a long while.

Hope this helps.

I don’t think it’s too hard if you can fixed a time for your family and friends. We have to arrange a time daily matching with our family and friends. There are many apps to have video call.
