Hello, I apply for the family immigration fiancée for those who will get married and I get email from udi 10 days ago that they get my case and I get the duf number. And tonight I get email from vhs that my visa application is forward send to the visa center where I apply. Is that mean that it’s rejected and denied how I researched all who get approved udi send the email that they did. Right?
Hi, I’m not sure what steps did you do upon applying... as for my experience, you will apply online at udi and then you must submit the papers to the application center so that they will process your application afterwards, udi will not process it until you submit all the requirements
Didn’t I wrote that already my case was 1 week in UDI and even I get the duf number? 😅 my case is finished by UDI and still is on the way to vfs center without any information.
The question more likely is if they denied are they don’t send any email? and the letter UDI with rejection will appear at VFS or theare is still a chance that UDI send it to the Embassy for the visa and I will get from the VFS information about it when they will get it ? It’s still not a residence card but fiancé permit to get marriage in Norway
Your statements are somehow vague that is why I said I did not know what did you do first, of course I want to be clear so I know what can I suggest to you. No your case is not finish in udi just because you got the duf number. And vfs will never update you either because it is just an application center and they don’t decide about any case. You must wait for the decision of udi. the email from udi has a link attached to it about waiting time and it is 5months minimum waiting time for a normal case as their new rule since August 1 if I’m not mistaken... If your papers met all the requirements needed and you’re lucky too you might get the decision in 1-2months...
The email from VFS is usually is not being sent in accordance to Udi’s reply to you, there’s no need to be worry... the important emails you should be waiting is from the udi and from Norwegian Embassy in Bangkok (if you are from asia)...Udi will send you monthly updates until they have decided on your case or 1 month after you got the duf number example you received it December 14 then they will update you in January 14, February 14 and so on until they’ve come to their decision on your case
Do not expect any updates from VFS, their participation is just to recive your papers, send it to embassy (embassy will send it to udi), and send your passport back after the decision. You’re application has no decision yet so don’t worry just wait. Goodluck!
Thank you so much. That kinda all I know. I read every UDI article what is possible and every each post here about Norway.
I wish you are right. But how you can explain email from VFS?
We apply at 3 December at VFS center, they send it to embassy in capital and at 13 December UDI wrote first email that they get application for the residence permit and they give me for the first time DUF number and til 24 December night was fine and it came email from VFS at 1 am at night that application visa with the correct my number of application is on the way to VFS visa center where I apply. This sounds like case is finished. Isn’t? I wrote the email to VFS Norway and they write me back that they are closed today but my case is still open and I should wait for the decision of embassy. Could be that the somehow system send it wrong?
Vfs might just send the email late... Duf number is just a case number. When the case has been decided the UDI and NORWEGIAN EMBASSY IN BANGKOK will send an email to you and it will clearly state there if you’re application is granted or denied... My friend also applied for a fiancé application and had undergone the same process like you. just wait.
Email late? What does mean?
It’s clearly stands that application is send to VFS center where I applied and that I will get a new email when application is on the place and I can collect it. This is really clear that my case is finished. Isn’t? I am not from Asia so it could be different here. Bust still all what I could research all who get positive get the email from UDI and that I didn’t get:(
Ok then, if you think it’s done it’s up to you. In most cases I have read UDI never failed in giving a clear decision to any case. So if you are more worried on vfs’ email than waiting for the decision of udi it’s all up to you. I don’t know more than that, maybe we have different process but one thing is for sure, only udi and the royal norwegian embassy can tell you if the case is done and decided, as long as you did not receive a congratulatory or rejection email from udi, it means your case is not yet done and the decision is not being given in just few days, you have to wait for at least two months. Good luck.
If UDI is sending email as well about rejection than this can be true. I really don’t understand how VFS could send email like that:( virus or what... this really make my Xmas days:(
Thank you 🙏🏻
Hi Haz1x2,
Your case is a little bit confusing since from what I understand you said your application was sent back to vfs by the UDI. If that so first thing you should do is ask UDI and not the vfs. Vfs is just an agency who's accepting your application then forward it to UDI. UDI is the one that is responsible about your application's approval etc.
If they sent it back it can also mean your papers are incomplete. But none of us know the real answer. So the best advise for you is to contact UDI and ask directly to them. The most important email you should be watching is from UDI.

I understand and my fiancé will for sure call them ASAP 🙏🏻 But this email come at Xmas 24 at 1am this mean UDI is out of contact to the 2nd January 😅 I wrote email to them with hope that someone will answer.
It’s 3 days now and on checking online the case at VFS site stands still the same what from the first day when embassy send it to UDI, that my case is handle at embassy. Is 3 days now and normally it suppose arrive from embassy to the visa center on that time or at least they will update that on the checking site? It is Turkey so here there is no any free days at the moment. For now my hope get much really bigger and that it was some virus in VFS mailing 🙏🏻
Hi i know how it feels to wait but be positive. Udi will normally send back all the application back to vfs center when yhey already made a decision. And the vfs will send the visa to you. The courier will send you a text message when they will deliver your passport with visa. And so u will already know you are approved.

Thank you for making me little more hope 🙏🏻✨
True. Application is still at UDI 🙏🏻
The only explanation is that visa center get some viruses in their system 😖
Hi, I am new here. Just want to know how to change my visa. I am Filipina, got married to my Norwegian boyfriend here in Norway last week, while on tourist visa. Problem is, my visa will expires 2 weeks from now.
Questions:
1. Is there any possibility for me to apply and change my visa to family immigration? If so, how and what possible requirements should we prepare?
2. After the wedding, the mayor who conduct our wedding gave us our temporary marriage certificate. Is it possible for us to use it for the application of my visa?
Looking forward for enlightenment.
Regards!
Erin
