Hi everyone,

I need some advice if anyone of you could help please.

I am looking to move to Malta with my partner and 2 children aged 4 and 1.

My grandad is Maltese but currently living in london and my aunt live in malta.

My dad currently has a Maltese passport and am just wondering would I be entitled to citizenship.

Thanks in advance

Hi and welcome to the forum.

You may read the rules relating to obtaining Maltese citizenship here:
https://identitymalta.com/unit/citizenship-unit/

If you are eligible and would require any birth or marriage certificates from the Malta Public Registry for your application, these can easily be ordered online here:
https://secure2.gov.mt/certifikati/

When submitting your application, ask for an expected time-frame for processing, however you can expect this to take several months, even possibly a year, due to the high volume of applications recently received by this unit. Once the target date for processing has been reached, if you have not had a response then follow up with a chaser email to check on the progress.

If you have a British passport, you will be able to retain this so you will have dual-citizenship.

Good luck
