Hello, I am Heather from London UK. I have been in Ningbo for 5 days. Pretty overwhelmed by not being able to read and understand anything, and my VPN doesn't work, so it's difficult to keep myself from getting anxious...all that alone time with no entertainment! Any way of getting UK/Am. films/series without VPN? I have been using Sohu, but it's pretty awful with the ads and typeface all over the screen.
Anyone based in Ningbo? I have the whole of the Chinese NY on my lonesome. Would like to meet an expat group, esp other expat women in Ningbo.

Hello, guys!
I'm Christian... French/Brazilian. I'm married to a Chinese and with one daughter, we moved to Suzhou last week and starting to get things into motion. Great to know there is an active community of expats here. Besides Brazil I have lived in the US and in France, and I do know how important a good network is - in several aspects.
Although I am new here, if I can be of any help to anyone, please let me know.
By the way... has anyone exchange his driver's license lately? I shall start the process this week and I am trying to sort things out.

Hi Thomas,
I guess you did not move to Shanghai yet. i was supposed to move there as well from Germany but due to the virus this was postponed. Where will you be working?
Hey,
We were just visiting Chengdu last week and I agree, the hot pot is fantastic. Not sure when we will be traveling there again as we live in Lanzhou for now but we (my wife and I) have been living in China for about a month now not counting the two weeks in quarantine.
Wisco native with a love for beer, brats, and studying cities. So far I feel I'm the expat living the farthest from the coast on this forum and its going to be difficult to find anyone close during the closed boarders but thought i would reach out anyway.
Chat soon,
Joshua

Hi.
I am British, my wife is from Jakarta, our dog is Chinese.
I've been teaching English at a university in Fuzhou since March 2015.
A few weeks ago I was tempted by my former boss who has been trying to poach me for a couple of years now. He offered me a position at an international high school in Pudong, Shanghai and we are going to be moving there at the start of August.
I am going to be staying with my former/new boss (close to People's Square) from July 28th to 31st when I am visiting the city for the first time to find an apartment.
I've never been to SH before I am really excited.
My new school is in Pudong and I would rather not live too far from my place of work so I will be looking for an apartment around that part of the city.
For the last decade, graphic design has been more than a hobby, I've designed a few logos, collaborated with a number of artists, sold a line of t-shirts, prints, and even printed a couple of small-batch books of designs. Last summer I started getting into 3D modelling, started with Sketchup and then made the switch to Blender.
I am looking for like-minded, creative types as I have a number of ideas that should do well in the Chinese marketplace.
I am not one for going out drinking although I will do it on the occasions my wife allows me.
Hello,
Kim from Singapore. Going to Zhuhai soon. Any one I can connect with?

Hi all,
I am Mei, from Malaysia. Just got an English teaching job in Shihezi University, moving there soon. Anyone has experience teaching English in China? Would love to get some advice in preparing myself for this position. By the way, anyone living in Xinjiang? Let's meet. Looking for travel mates too, as I'm planning to travel around China while I am there. Wish to make some friends, so if anyone of you are visiting Shihezi, just hit me up. I'll buy you a coffee, show you around, or even host you for a night or two if you need a place to stay.

Greetings, My name is Jake and I'm new here.
I'm thinking about taking my first trip to China when it's possible to do so. I'm a very good artist / Painter and electronic ambient musician. I'd like to explore the possibilities of being able to live on a pension but continue to work as an artist in Changsha or other cities. I'm also meeting a woman for marriage . I'm exploring all possibilities and would like to hear anyone's suggestions. I've taught intuitive painting classes in Ukraine for six years at festivals. yoga clubs, shopping malls for 7000 people of all ages with great success. Would like to hear from anyone who can give suggestions. Thank you
Hello fellow expats,
I have recently arrived from th UK and looking for musicians and gig opportunities. I was a professional drummer back in the UK, but also do solo gigs as a guitarist.
Any advice or contacts would be greatly appreciated.
Best wishes,
