Name Change in Malta

I am also in the same position, RAF baby born in Malta, already have my citizenship,

now looking to have my name registered with the Maltese courts,

so really would like the lawyer details if at all possible, so i can get my Passport sorted

Me too mate, (lawyer details) if you don't mind

The old birth records have an incorrect middle name reference - which I discovered to be a problem after I got my dual citizenship notification (12 weeks later) which is a problem as my Aussie passport and citizenship have my correct middle name

The consulate has asked (and we are searching for) original migration documents that would have the name we left the country under as a way of correcting the situation - but I can't rely on that

So a lawyer to help things move through would be handy - else I fear the name change and repeating the process will take the better part of 2024.

I am in a similar situation as Pierre, birth records in Malta do not have my middle name, whereas my UK passport does.  Can you recommend the lawyer you used? Thank you so much -

@Eddie B-A did u ever sort this out? im in a predicament where Public Registry wont register my birth even though my names on it are exactky as on my Citizenship cert—however i have 2 first names and on my other passport the first names have been ’flipped’ and Public Registry says i need a lawyer to sort this out as they say i am creating a ‘double identity’—but i’m not! all names on my birth cert are what i use, just in a different order!

@Eddie B-A did u ever get this sorted out? im in a similar situation except that my Foreign Birth Cert and my Maltese Citizenship certs all have the same names but my other passport has my first names in a different order than it appears on my birth cert and Public Registry (i technically have 2 first names) and they are insisting that this inconsistancy with my other passport is an issue. all the same names just different order. The ’other’ country clearly didnt have an issue with it. Public Registry is saying i need to see a lawyer
