I have dual citizenship to the USA and France. I have lived in US all my life. I would like to retire with my US pension in France.  I am looking for information on healthcare in France. Since I have not worked in France, will I still be eligible for healthcare?

Might want to post this on the France board.  As a US Citizen you get to keep filing income tax returns with the IRS.  Good luck.

Hello everyone, welcome JHPfen951,

Please note that this thread is now on the France forum for better visibility.

You might want to read the The healthcare system in France article to get some primary infos.

all the best,

Hello,

Since January 1, 2016, with universal health protection (PUMa), anyone who works or resides in France on a stable and regular basis is entitled to cover their healthcare costs.

This is basic medical coverage. After that it will be up to you to see if you want to improve the degree of coverage.
