We are retired and considering relocating to Belize. We are PADI scuba instructors with a shop here in Colorado and would refer students to an operation in Belize. We would bring much dive gear with us. We have owned and operated a Caribbean themed bar / restaurant featuring live bands, we are musicians and play a variety of music in our house band. Running an AIRBNB or hostel would be attractive for additional income. We would like to hook up with like minded expats already there to make the transition easy. Suggestions & advice are most welcome & appreciated.

Have you visited Belize before? First and foremost, you will need to spend some time in country, if you have not previously. It's a small country with a myriad of different cultures and topography.
Regardless of your choice of business to pursue, there are rules and regulations governing employment for non-Belizeans, including opening your own business, and obtaining a work permit.
As for the 'island' aspect of Belize, Ambergris Caye and Caye Caulker are the primary 'vacation' cayes, and many people will be looking to dive from here. There are numerous dive operations in Belize, as you can imagine, and there is a lot of competition.
There are a number of restaurants around, but few that are really good. It will depend on where you choose to locate, as to the viability of a restaurant. A restaurant/bar with live music would be a nice addition in a lot of areas.
