Hello,

I have been working for a Belgium company since January 2020 with a Single Permit. My wife has joined me with a dependent visa. She is now trying to look for some work in the IT industry.

We have not received our RP card yet (hopefully we will get it in the next couple of weeks), but received the annexure 49 and annexure 15 (for my wife) respectively. In the annexure 15 it is mentioned that Arbeidsmarkt: neen which means Labor market: no .

Can any dependent who came with the single permit and has started working here comment on it? There is no clear documentation of it.
From the dofi website, https://dofi.ibz.be/sites/dvzoe/FR/Guid … nique.aspx  it says

a) Since 03/01/2019, a non-European national who wishes to stay and work for more than 90 days in Belgium must submit a single request to the competent Region, through his employer. If this request is accepted, he receives a single document attesting that he is authorized to stay more than 90 days in Belgium to work there ( single permit ).

b) All residence permits issued by Belgium since 03/01/2019 bear a statement relating to access to the labor market : "Labor market: limited", or "Labor market: unlimited", or " Labor market: no ”.

Please note: False information is circulating about this new procedure. The single permit is not a regularization, but an administrative simplification. The Immigration Office still checks whether the conditions of stay are met.

So if labor market says no, you cannot look for work here? Looking for some guidance from dependent spouses who are already working here.

your wife cannot work as she doesn't have a work permit.

Arbeidsmarkt: neen.

Your work visa is for you and it's not extensible for anyone.

Hi,
I’m a dependent to my husband and he has the single permit - D visa. I have already received my RP and it has mentioned work labour- unlimited ( I only need to re apply for RP card every year , as in renew it.

Not sure about your situation because as far as I’m aware single permit d visa dependents are allowed to work.

This is the situation. Few people are saying No. But I came accross few people who are working as dependents. Not sure on what basis they provide the work permit for the spouse? But there is no work permit anymore, it's single permit. I checked the work.be site
https://www.werk.be/en/work-permits/wor … nal-permit not sure if this is the old rule or the new one.

I have been in touch with my commune and they have confirmed that your dependents can work till the time your work permit/residence permit is in place.

Thanks
Arjun
