Hi. We are looking to purchase a villa in the Paphos area and would really welcome some information on the regions around Paphos.
We don’t want to be in a busy area but maybe 10-15 mins drive away. We are happy to drive 20 mins to the beach as we hopefully we will have  our own private pool.
We don’t want somewhere that is dead in the winter so not too rural. Needs to be roughly 10 mins drive to a local supermarket and  restaurants. It is just myself and my husband in our 50s but quite young for our age. We have no children and no pets. We love greenery and nature but as I have said we don’t want to be too cut off. We are hoping to spend a month looking around the Paphos area quite soon so would appreciate any suggestions of different areas and their appeal.  Of course we will rent first. Thank you!

A good plan to rent first ... but perhaps and would strongly suggest rent for upto 6 months.  Taking a few short let's in that time to give you a better feel for the different areas. .

As for areas I would suggest... as a starting point Peyia as it has a good mix of everything but does tend to get called little Britain...

Kathikas is very  nice cooler than the coastal areas but Colder in winter.

Chloraka is quite a large area and leeches into both Emba/Lempa and Kissonerga

Tala .. lovely village easy reach of coral bay peyia paphos etc

Mandria again a lovely village and easy reach of paphos and the airport and the highway

Polis Prodromi Argaka lovely places but a little further afield

Tsada and Tremithousa easy reach of paphos

Dear Toon
Thank you for your reply. Very helpful information. Good advice also about short term let’s in the different areas.  We will definitely do this. Thank you!

take as long as you need to explore the areas..  it can be an expensive mistake if you get the area or property wrong.. research the areas visit them morning noon and night as the dynamics change with workers children going to school building works developement hunting areas and of course the hunting dogs themselves (dog barking is a big problem here) ... sometimes hunters dogs are kennelled away from the owners homes.. so be wary and check it out well also be wary of nearby holiday let rentals too especially if close to complexes ... we only rent but it took us 2 years and three other properties to find the ideal property for us.... .

Good advice. Thank you. We will take our time and look around. Hopefully we can find some shorter lets throughout the season to check out different areas. So far we are quite interested in Polis as one option. Think we will try air b n b for a couple of weeks first to see. Don’t want anywhere too windy or anywhere that closes down completely during winter. Would also like some all year round neighbours nearby. Will continue researching. Thank you.

good luck with your search

Hi guys, where do you usually find rental places around paphos?

Toon

Most estate agents - Sunseakers, Buy and Sell Cyprus, Cyprus101, Fox, SmartRentz, to name but a few,  although their web pages are usually out of date.. you could try facebook pages for their rental pages and also Bazaraki is quite good.

other agents to consider
Kthma
Fitzgeralds
Cyprus Property Finders

I found some pretty good deal on Airbnb $35-45/ night , I thought its a good rate(?)
Just along apostolou Pavlou Ave , near kings mall. I hope that's a good place to stay. Checked cyprus 101 but did not find anything for rent. Also booked airport transfer on  https://cyprus24.taxi/ for 30€.

God luck
