wow. you are hedging your bets here mate. why did you come here? You should be in America. Its Vietnam. Lots of Americans here I know that. Its good to have the nostaligia of home but its not here. Its nice to have some of home in a foriegn country. But you must remember you are in a foreign country. Your the foreigner.

I guess Australia doesn't have any holidays so you don't know what it's like to get together with fellow expats to celebrate a hometown holiday.  If you don't want to celebrate an Aussie holiday that's fine.  But why should we have to do without our holidays because you say so?  BTW, do you celebrate XMas and New Years?  Those aren't holidays in Viet Nam.  Chill out and don't worry: you're not on the invite list.

AmCham are celebrating tomorrow on Sat 2nd July with a family picnic and what not. Check out there events section. I think there are a couple of other events around town too.  I know seventeen bar is doing something, no doubt the other bars will be doing something.
