That's encouraging!

Now if they'll just mandate a transition from styrofoam food containers and cups to biodegradable paper!

It looks quite straightforward to complete this form online by yourself or by someone helping you.

Once the form is finalized it should be quick and easy to complete. It is in development according to the link to be rolled out on 29th I believe in SDQ initially. No different to booking your ticket and reserving your seat and other flight preferences online in terms of difficulty.

Yes there will be teething problems whilst everyone gets used to using it. At least there period of transition is upto 1st January when both digital and printed forms can be used. Time to get this bugs sorted.

It makes you answer the important questions required for health, immigration and customs clearly. No fudging now with scribbled responses which waste the immigration offciers time asking again. It will be with them when you arrive and always available as a record digitally rather than a big pile of paper in a warehouse.

Modernization for sure. Great.

The General Directorate of Migration (DGM) reported that as of February 1, the use of digital channels will be mandatory to fill out the entry and exit ticket from the Dominican Republic.

Through the Single Registration Portal of the DGM website, a digital form will be completed with the information required by the General Directorate of Migration, the General Directorate of Customs and the Ministry of Public Health, which will replace the filling of all the physical forms that are required to date.

The aforementioned form must be filled out prior to the passage of passenger migration.

In a memorandum addressed to the airlines that operate in the country and the traveling public in general, the DGM warned that until January 31, the two forms of information filling will be allowed, that is, the physical forms and the new form through of the digital form.

The page to fill it out is https://eticket.migracion.gob.do/Auth/TravelLogin

Many thanks Riva 31 for the info. here I am making the final preparations for my departure with my wife to D.R. and is good to know any additional processes . This will make the island more agile I believe , since the Virus world economies has been forced to work at par and become more efficient . Krumite

It says that the website is under construction.

We arrived on Dec 29 in POP.  I dutifully filled out the electronic form prior to departure.
On the airplane the flight attendant gave us all the regular forms to fill out and had no knowledge of the new method.

At immigration they took the paper forms and never asked for the e-tickets.  Wanting to get through quickly and with poor Spanish I did not inquire.

Wow,  they sure know how to make things difficult.   Others have mentioned that the  website was not functioning well.

I arrived last night and partially fill out the form but it was not 100% working. Many fields would not except the data even though the data was correct. I believe this form will not be in effect until February. It’s a work in progress but once it is up and running it should be OK. Two paper additional forms were used Regarding Covid.

The problems reported by some are the likely reasons they said they accept both up to 31 Jan 2021. Obviously they hope to fix the system by then. Until then it does seem confusing - although understandable, Certainly hope it gets worked out. As long the agents/officers at the airports work together and aren't insisting on one form when it's not working. Just saying.......

I tried using the digital version when we left SDQ on 12/13 and when we returned to STI on 12/22. In both cases, the migration officers looked at me like I had 3 eyes! At SDQ, I wasn't prepared with paper forms so the officer filled out mine and I filled out Dave's. Coming back, I went ahead and completed the paper forms just in case they asked. I'm glad I did because that was all that they would accept!

The form was still very tempermental when I was completing it. For instance, I had to choose Samana as my province multiple times before it would populate the options for city.

The General Directorate of Migration (DGM) informed national and international airlines, as well as all travelers that it extended until April 1 of this year 2021 the mandatory and exclusive use of the digital route of the electronic ticket (receipt) of entry and exit from the Dominican Republic.

The single receipt of registration and digital filling of the information required by the DGM, the General Customs Directorate (DGA) and the Ministry of Public Health of all passengers entering or leaving the country, whether Dominican or foreign, will replace the filling of all the physical forms that are required to date.

"Until March thirty-one (31), 2021, the two forms of information filling will be allowed: the current one through physical forms, and the new one through the digital form," says the DGM statement.

To digitally fill out this entry and exit form, you can access the link https://eticket.migracion.gob.do. This website contains the detailed steps for its completion in English, Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese, Russian and German.

There has been discussion about no scanners for the new form.

Apparently, no scanning is needed.
This comment is from the woman at POP... a DGM employee who is on site to facilitate entry/departure for people

Migration officers do not need to scan your QR code for either arrival or departure, when they swipe your passport your e-ticket shows up on their screen (it's linked to the passport)

You will need your QR code mostly for arrivals, to show it to customs. For departure, customs won't normally ask any passenger for it, but it's a good idea to have it on your phone in case your bag is inspected or if you have something to declare when leaving the country.
