In case you use your Australia passport to enter Vietnam, you need to have a sponsor company that will be responsible for obtaining all approvals for your entry from the Vietnamese authorities.

You need a covid test prior to your departure.

As you should know, Cristina12345, this week the government of Vietnam shut down all incoming commercial flights, so no one is being admitted with a foreign passport for sponsored work:

So it appears that the "dual national" OP needs to follow your good advice and apply for repatriation with a Vietnamese passport at the Embassy of Vietnam.

Qantas has indicated that all passengers will need to be vaccinated against Covid before they can fly on a Qantas flight once overseas travel has been authorised.
Australia has indicated that to return to Australia from overseas there will need to be proof of Covid vaccination . Without proof of vaccination then the self paid 14 day quarantine will apply ( single cost $2500)

Wife and I were just discussing this today.  Hopefully we will be able to get to US next spring and can get vaccinations there.  I don't think they will have enough supply to get one in Vietnam before we leave and I'd hate that preventing us from getting out of here.  I mean, who else would be the safest people on a plane?  Of course the family from Vietnam.  I didn't want to get one but I suspected that I'll need one for the next return trip to Vietnam for work once we get home.

Yes thats true, but the jab is to protect you from infection not others on the plane from you & are you planning a direct flight to the US   or will it involve a transit stop to take on more passengers or hang about an airport to change flights?
I watched a very interesting news item France 24  the other day & it said even if you have the 2 jabs & cant get infected you can still infect others cos the virus can live in your nose & throat!! & thats why many companies are trying to produce a nasal vaccine.

The main issue with the vaccine is that nobody knows the long term health implications of the vaccine.  I understand that it has gone through trials but nobody knows if it can affect any other parts of the body over the coming years.  Please don't confuse my hesitation with consipracy theories.  I also don't buy the first model year of any car, either.  Let someone else discover the bugs in the car (or vaccine).

i rang the embassy and they said i didn't have to register. i am not sure if this is the correct advice.
i asked them about the procedure and they said ask the carrier. I rang jetstar and they said ask the embassy or government. So i am just going in circles.
Anyway, i booked the flight for 29th march 2021, it was really cheap. $300 aud one way.
hopefully, quarantine at a hotel or government place won't be that expensive.
I don't mind getting vacinated if it is available.
Do you know if you need to be tested before flight?

Your flight is over three-months from now, anything that is required now could change by March.

If the US does require vaccination to return to the USA where can a person get one if they are not offered here in Vietnam, as well as what about children under 16? How can they fly if they cannot have the vaccination anyway.
My wife and I have been discussing this as well, since we hoped to be done with her Visa process by June. Thanks for any information. I know everything is up in the air for now.
