It seems there are several reasons for your rejection.
Good luck in your job search!

Hi Guys,

What is usually the reasons MOM reject an spass renewal? My s-pass was renewed last 4th June and got rejected on12th June. My company re-appeal my application and make an adjustment with regards my salary which also they checked in Self-assessment tool which the company qualify for an S Pass (subject to quota availability) based on the information provided.

Is there an instances they will reject an appeal with different reason from the 1st rejection? Our company assure we have enough quota as well.

Looking forward to hear from you guys :)

Did you read existing forum discussions about the topic?
All of the many approval criteria (which can, of course, be rejection reasons if not met) were already mentioned in detail!

Hi, have you or your company checked with MOM if the company have enough quota for SPass? because now MOM has reduced the number of quota. And for example, your company have 26 local staff, last time the company entitled to get 3 nos. of Spass but now they could only get 2 nos. of Spass. My HR found out from MOM recently about this matter.

Thank you so much @jdid-1 for your kind response. As I checked with our company we have enough quota to have an Spass. A bit worrying seems MOM keep updating criteria/requirements for renewal of spass.

Hello, My spass has been appealed 2 times,  and MoM just emailed yesterday that they need more time to review, does that mean my spass will be rejected? cos the last time they said they need more time to review.. it was rejected. thankyou

beppi

If the had already decided to reject, there would be no need to review further. Thus you case is obviously not decided yet.

Hi, my spass also got rejected then I checked with HR , they said they will reapply for me but the status still showing REJECTED which means they haven't reapplied yet ?

beppi

MyatNoe: Yes, it means that, or that MoM is slow in putting the new application into their system (it can take a week or so). Also, if they decided to appeal instead, it is not shown in the system.

I am curious why MOM website stated employment agent can apply spass but Spass rejection is due to Reason given by MOM
“Work pass is for foreigner to work for direct employer only and not for another company/ client”. Btw spass was applied by employment agent. Seem so puzzled or maybe MOM mistaken by error?

beppi

Agents can only be engaged by employers to help with the formalities of a work pass application.
Some agents pretend they are hiring for themselves and not for the actual employer (e.g. if the employer isn't allowed to hire foreigners). This is not o.k. - and thus the rejection letter wording.
If you encounter this (or other agent shenanigans - there are many), you should cut contact with the agent and look for a job with a more honest employer!
