I currently work in Alexandria, Egypt, and will be moving to work for an assignment in Cairo. I'll be looking for a place to live around Garden City. I contacted a couple of people listing a flat in Garden City but none seems to be available at the moment, unfortunately.
If anybody could offer some help, that will be great. In any case, glad to know you all.

Welcome to Egypt 😊
We are a Danish couple in the mid-60s and retired.
We have traveled all over Egypt for the last 20 years. and has for the last 4 years had a permanent residence in Hurghada which we have only used 6 months every year. We are now considering / investigating the possibilities of extending the period
Best regards
Jytte Gregersen
The process for the temporary residence permit is fairly straightforward. First,If u don't have valid visa you’ll need the tourist/entry visa, which is essentially the same thing, and then you’ll need to apply at the local police station with an application in both English and Arabic, a valid passport that should be current up to six months, and a passport-style photo. These qualifications can change, so check with your local Embassy of Egypt to be sure before heading out.

Hi everyone, my name is Jade and I'm in the UK. I've travelled to Egypt over 35 times, a beautiful country I fell in love with and enjoyed visiting for many years up until 5 years ago.
I'm here looking for advice on a situation I'm hoping someone may be able to help me with or point me in the right direction to resolve.
I hope everyone is safe and taking care of themselves during this madness in the world right now.
Hello,
What is your question, I mean what advice you looking for?
I posted on the forum about it and have been given some helpful advice on what to do so thank you everyone for being so helpful and kind.
Hello Everyone,
I am new to this forum, and I just joined a couple of weeks ago and I am already find it the forum interesting.
I am a Greek/British citizen and have lived in both Greece and England for a number of years.
I have also had the wonderful opportunity to work on a large scale Engineering project in Cairo 2 years ago and I since really liked Egypt and the culture and the lifestyle and I have been traveling to Egypt on numerous times since. I have also made some good friends and last but not least, I have met my beautiful Egyptian fiancee.
I am planning to move in a more semi-permanent way in between Egypt and England in the next few months and I already know a lot about Egypt and I am currently learning Arabic too.
Yeah, that is all really about me, for now I guess.
Many thanks

Hello Group :-)
My name is Ameir. I live in the US and I have been wanting to find marketing opportunities for work in Egypt (mainly Cairo, New Cairo, or the Red Sea). I have been to Egypt almost every summer since I was a child so I am somewhat familiar with the market. (I am half Egyptian). Having worked in marketing for over 6 years, I bring a wealth of knowledge in producing marketing strategies that maximize exposure and garner actionable results. I am very creative and have a knack for creating content that engages and nurtures current and potential audiences.
As you can see I am fluent in English and I am improving on my Arabic. I would love to connect with anyone in the group on opportunities and strategies for making a move to Egypt.
Hope to connect with you all soon.
All the Best,
Ameir

On this moment I just orienting of the possibilities to move maybe to Hurghada.
I’m a single lady so , is it safe to live there alone.
How much money do you need to live a normal good life in Hurghada? ( own apartment)
What must I consider to live there?
Sincerely Sandra
Hello Sandra,
Well as a 58 year old American I find Egypt very safe, and yes you can live here with no pr4oblem...
But as anywhere in the world you have to be carful, people could deceive you as well, so DO NOT and I repaid DO NOT purchase any place to owe until you come here and check it our prior to purchase...
You well enjoy living here but not before you come and check it out... Talk to people...
I owe my own company over here as a branch to my main company in the US, and if you need to do that you have to come first and don't trust anyone easy... I can help you as much as possible as I have too many connection in many places, APT's over here could range from 500000 to 3 million Egyptian pound depend on size, locations and so for... I did not purchase my place until I looked very carefully for over 2 weeks and studied all locations... When you decide to come over here you can email me at a@spotcleaningegypt.com or call me if you which I can send you my number...
Regards
Al
Hi
Hope you are well, I am looking to retire, to Hurghada, has I have an apartment there, however, I have been trying, to get a better understanding, of the potential cost of living, in Hurghada, where I am stuck, regarding the cost and the procedure, when it comes to property tax ?, can you help or advise ?
Nathan
As I stated to other members for, do not get in hurry when it comes to purchase an appt. You have to be careful as they range from 500000 to 3 million, my advice to come and 1. Check the area, find the price there, who live there, what services there...
2. Based on price of apt, taxes for real states is what ever over 500000, meanwhile is calculated in total price of the place, location, and do v for.
3. As I said be careful, don't buy from far, see the place (for example they well sale to you what they call filla inside appt complex, but in reality it's not, they well sale the garage under the apt for you and after word they inform you to deal with the government...
4. Come in a visit check out all options, then take action.
5. If you need help contact me, I will an American who discovered too many things, and house to deal with all, as I opened a company, purchased place and leaned many things.
Thank you

Hi,
My name is Maryse,
I am a Belgian citizen speaking French, Dutch and English.
I have been in Cairo for the last 2 months with my boyfriend of 3 years. I worked as an International Aid worker for the last 5 years. I have a nursing degree, but I have been thinking of a career switch to allow me to stay in Egypt permanently.
Would really enjoy meeting new people.
Of course I would be interested, my worry is the working permit. I read everywhere that it is very difficult to obtain.
But I'm open to all propositions
Hey I’m new to Cairo, Egypt and I was wondering if anybody knows a public basketball court that locals play at or any courts recommendations. Thanks in advance
