Hello everybody,

We would like to take stock of the changing cost of living in Turkey, particularly in your city or region. The aim is to measure the impact that the health crisis may have had on your expenses.
This will help other expatriates on the spot and all those who would like to relocate there in the near or more distant future.

> What is the price of a property rental in Turkey? What about buying a property?

> How much does petrol cost or how much does it cost to use the various public transport services?

> How much do you spend on average on your weekly groceries in Turkey? Have you noticed a change in the price of staple foodstuff?

> What is the price of your health insurance? How much does seeing a general practitioner or specialist cost?

> How much are your children's school fees? What about the cost of childcare?

> How much do you spend on your regular bills (water, electricity, mobile phone package, internet subscription etc.) on a monthly basis?

> What budget do you set aside for your leisure activities in Turkey? What is the price of a cinema or concert ticket? How much does a subscription to a gym cost?

Do not hesitate to indicate any other price changes you may have in mind.

Many thanks,

Cheryl,

Hi there,

> What is the price of a property rental in Turkey? What about buying a property?

Living in Istnabul /
Rental - I pay 2500 TL for 2 rooms + 1 living, kitchen, 2 bath rooms

> How much does petrol cost or how much does it cost to use the various public transport services?

I use only public transports -  bus and metro 3 tl to 6 tl

> How much do you spend on average on your weekly groceries in Turkey? Have you noticed a change in the price of staple foodstuff?

Groceries (food only) ; 250 TL weekly ( about 30 USD)
Other than food ; 500 TL appx weekly ( about 60 USD)

I noticed a change: inflation continues

> What is the price of your health insurance? How much does seeing a general practitioner or specialist cost?

My health insurance is for residence permit. Only basic it covers

> How much do you spend on your regular bills (water, electricity, mobile phone package, internet subscription etc.) on a monthly basis?

water 30-40 TL
electricity 120-160 TL
Mobile/internet package 120 TL

That is all I can state.
Hope it helps you.

Best

Cheryl

The problem I am having is finding an apartment for two months now in Istanbul for months from March 28th to April and May 28. prices have gone up and renters are asking very high prices most of us can't afford to pay. If you know some elegant one-level no stairs inside an apartment in Taksim Square for $400 or less I would like to talk to these landlords. Cheap rentals are not livable and need to be very nice completely furnished and full kitchen and perfect bathroom I had to resort to Airbnb hotels lousy and not suitable. I need support on this.
I am interested in going to Fethiye for four-month after in Istanbul also very nice of the same qualities but I am coming across with same problems. Need to stay in Fethiye till September 13. I have been searching for no good result. I need to be in Fethiye close to Calis beach to walk on the boardwalk daily.
