Hi, I'm from the United States but been here in Portugal for a while. Because of this lockdown I've been craving live American TV a lot more than usual since Netflix doesn't exactly do that.

Do any other American expats here have any suggestions? I've heard of USTVnow for that but I'd like to know your experiences with it or similar services.

I use a VPN and have an Amazon Firestick which allows me to access UK TV Programs and US News via YouTube.
US live streams ought to be available too.
I can also access US Netflix catalogue via the VPN.
Using Surfshark VPN but there are many on market, allows you to watch from Mobile Phone, TV, Tablet or PC.
Only one that I've found difficult to access is BBC iPlayer from my TV, but OK from mobile or PC.
No idea why although I was able to access from a different VPN a year ago
Hope this helps.  That would be my recommendation and VPN is more than helpful if trying to access some home websites that may block local access.
VPN maybe €20-30 a year.
Amazon Firestick maybe €40.

Oh wow!  Thanks for all this information.  I've wondered about accessing these things for ages.

I also use couple of VPN for different purposes and different devices because I have a typical issue with vpn like most of the time I faced the connection error which really frustrated me. Secondly few vpns are perform best on some devices and some providers are compatible on specific device. Some have speed issue and some have servers limitations. That is why I got multiple subscription of numerous vpn providers such as SurfShark, ExpressVPN, PureVPN and IPVanish. For Firestick I preferred to use a [link moderated] which perform outstanding and I never faced a connectivity error. On the other side, for android tv I recommend to use a [link moderated] which gives me huge number of servers. But for streaming on my android phone, I need a good speed because when I connect with other vpn except [link moderated] I always faced a speed issue. This is my real time experience and I think it will help in to get a good vpn according to your needs.

Thank You
