IPA letter for LOC application of prospective DP holder

Dear friends,

I am an EP holder, my wife is a WP holder. My company applied for DP for her, and the application is successful—we have an IPA for her DP now. My question is,

Is it sufficient to apply for LOC using only the IPA of her DP?

The reason I am asking is, if we were to issue her DP (cancelling her WP in so doing), she won’t be able to work for at least 3 weeks while pending the application of LOC.

Many thanks for reading and any sharing of experience will be very much appreciated!

She can apply LOC after obtaining her DP. So, she has to wait till her LOC gets approved before she can resume her work again. Good luck

Thanks surya2k for your reply. From this post , it seems that the IPA is sufficient for the application of LOC ?

I can’t see the link which you have mentioned in your message, below is the MoM link says a DP holder (which means you must have DP card) can apply LOC.

If you can have MoM link which shows with IPA can apply LOC then you should go ahead applying LOC. Good luck

Dear Surya,

I would like to check with you regarding my LOC application which was submitted on March 19 th 2021. The status of LoC Application is still pending. Don't know the reason for pending. Its almost been one month completed. What might be the reason for pending? Thanks

Since the LoC for DP holders will be abolished in two weeks, it might be a delay tactic.
You better prepare to get your own work pass!
