Drinking from the groundwater

Post new topic

Khohase

Hello!

Can I drink the water from the groundwater we drilled in Sakon Nakhon.
About 36 meter down.
Do we need some kind of filter?

Guest234878

Have the water tested..

Hi Khohase

I am Thai people is regioanl country on Phare Provincial,

A lot of people we drink water from ground water on purified by not filter.

Anyway, for save your health, shall be send to test by local government to ensure is safe water did not have any contamination.

2nd level confirmation safe water to you by drink through filter equipment after your pump out from drilled area.

Like others suggested have the water tested and then you can choose your filtration if required. I would certainly suggest an activated charcoal filter which removes any odor or unpleasant tastes. You can buy these at a local Homepro or other leading hardware stores. Alternatively you can jump on line and buy your own little water test kit and test yourself periodically for your own peace of mind. Thai water generally appears to be very hard with lime deposits which will tarnish your tap ware. Big problem in Thailand. I have 4 large water tanks and we survive most of the year on rain water but we live on Koh Samui where it rains about 10 months of the year. We have a well that we use for flushing toilets and washing up and as a  back up via a filtration system for our rain water tanks.
Hope this helps.

Just buy bottled water for drinking and  use the groundwater for everything else. It is extremely cheap.
