Work Visa for Internship

Post new topic

Sarah1030

Hi everyone,

I am a non-EU recent graduate living in the Netherlands and I am considering taking an internship in Brussels for 6 months. I have a question regarding the different ways I can stay in Brussels after the internship. Is it only possible to stay if I secure a full-time job in Brussels before my internship ends? If that's the case, do I re-apply for a work permit and what happens if there are gaps between the internship and the new job because of visa processing times?

Thank you!

Hello,

it all depends on what you're doing / diploma / skills... (IT, pharma, chemistry, ...)
At some point, if you can find an employer that do handle the work permit you'll be fine.

Once your work permit is over, you'll receive a formal order to leave the country within 90 days. (Meaning you've to go back in your country or in the Netherlands if you still have a valid resident permit at that time)
