Hello dear mates,

I currently live in Poland, in Krakow, working as a teacher in a language school.

I started my work on March 1st, 2021. Now, I am aware that I should process to  get a residence card.

Should I request a temporary residence card or permanent residence card, please?  I would certainly extend my contract after June, hopefully :)

I kindly ask your help please.
Thank you so much in advance. 🌸

Hi Rahel,

I live in Krakow too.

The first thing you should do is get a PESEL number. As you are unsure whether your contract will be extended in June, you probably shouldn't apply for a temporary residence card just yet. The process takes months and you probably won't get an answer by June even if you submitted an application now.

However, what I would recommend you do is to visit the MUW on one of the open house Saturdays. There is one coming up this weekend. You can read more about it here: https://infoopt.pl/sobota-informacyjna- … 4-2021-r/.

They will have professional English-speaking staff there to discuss whatever questions you may have. It is a really useful event for foreigners living in Krakow.

I hope this helps!

Hello dear member,

Hope your question has being answered satisfactorily. Please, kindly advise me on a good language school that I can attend in Krakow, enrolment procedure and tuition rates for your language school.

Also how certain can I obtain Polish language visa from my country of residence.

Thank you for your kind response!

Hi,

I am currently taking Polish lessons at a school called SpeakPolish (polishlanguage.pl). It is possible to enter Poland on a one-year visa to study at a language school.

The school can help you prepare necessary documents to obtain a visa. The fee for a one year course with visa documents is PLN 2600 (261,909.49 Nigerian Naira).

There is a Polish embassy in Abuja, Nigeria.

You would still need to:
- Provide proof that you have sufficient amount of money to stay in Krakow and purchase a return ticket
- Complete a Type D visa application and pay the fee
- Purchase sufficient medical insurance
- Provide proof that you have a place to stay
- Provide any other requested documents

Unless you have around at least 3,000,000 naira, I sincerely doubt your application will be successful.

Hi Joshua,

Thank you so much indeed for your help. I checked on the link and I am planning to attend the coming Saturday event at their Headquarters.

I got my PESEL number already. I will have to check on how to obtain residence card. As I am highly likely sure that I will extend my contract, I must be sure of which (temporary or permanent) residence card I must ask.

I have my visa until Dec, 2021. I hope until December, I will be able to get the card.🙏
Thanks for the link again. It's very much helpful.

Have a blessed day,
Rahel
