Hello everyone,

I hope you are well.

We're planning to publish an article about freedom of the press around the world and would like to know your opinion.

What are your thoughts on freedom of the press in China?

What are the current risks in China?

How can these issues be addressed?

Feel free to reply below or to send me a PM.

Thanks in advance!

Warm regards,

Hi,

Did you receive many (any?) PM's on this?...

I happen to be aware that the doctor who tried to warn other medics about coronavirus had a visit from the authorities three days later asking him to stop.

He was accused of "making false comments" that had "severely disturbed the social order". He was asked to sign a letter with:

We solemnly warn you: If you keep being stubborn, with such impertinence, and continue this illegal activity, you will be brought to justice - is that understood?

Underneath in Dr Li's handwriting is written: "Yes, I do."

He has since passed away. Authorities have exonerated him for his behaviour and is now a national hero.
