Hi Friends,
I recently purchased a project property in Olhao, site unseen. I'm seeking someone who provides the services of errand-running, etc. My attorney is not interested in the more mundane tasks beyond the purchase. Does anyone know who does this?
Thank you,
Tim

Jean Denise

Please clarify type of errand-running required.

Hi Tim,
What kind of assignments/tasks are you thinking of ?

Jean,
Thank you for asking.
The truthful answer is, I don't entirely know. I was not able to get much help from the realtor, so the first task is measurements. I would love to know the exact width of the entrance door, so that I can plan. Because I won't be moving full-time to Olhao, I would love to have someone to keep an eye on things, pay bills, or communicate or whatever. So, I guess that I have to toss the question back to you, what kind of things would you like to do, or not do? I'm flexible.

Hi Tim
First of all who is your realtor, what is your country of origin, by entrance door we take it you mean the door directly into the building, communication can be done via private email found in my personal details, where about in Olhao is your property.

Hi, on the same topic, does anyone know a directory for directly employing maids and handymen? I would like to hire directly as opposed to using a company due to their mark-ups.
Thanks

Jean Denise

What area are you looking to hire?

Hi, I’m in Lagos. Algarve.
Thanks

Hi contactzoe
In my experience word of mouth is the best way to find & hire good personnel, you would probably be best asking friends if they know someone that does what you require, we found that out with anyone that we needed to do a job, also with cleaners you can set the hourly rate here in the eastern algarve the rate can be as little as 5€ an hour not sure in your area ask around you will find someone. Hope this helps

Have you asked your Estate Agent ?  And / or the Lawyer who handled the purchase for you ?

I would have thought they were the obvious persons to make recommendations .

You also need to clarify ( perhaps in your own mind for starters ) just what task/s it is you will be requiring this individual to do.

Is the house habitable ?  Maybe go and live there for as long as you can make time for, in order better to ascertain just what it is you need, and need doing.

Yes, they were the obvious ones to ask; and no, they were not helpful. The plans and questions are quite clear to me, but a forum isn't my choice for the details. However, this forum worked perfectly in introducing me to someone that I have chosen to trust with those details. And to your final point. The reason that I need someone to do those errands is because I can't get there, yet. Thank you for your thoughts.
