You can now use your NHS app to get an "NHS Covid Pass" when you're "double-jabbed" (fully vaccinated).

"How to get the NHS COVID Pass and demonstrate your coronavirus (COVID-19) status when travelling abroad and domestically at events and venues in England."

https://www.gov.uk/guidance/demonstrati … covid-pass

This lets you download a PDF document to keep on your phone and/or print out.

I believe the printed version is accepted by Bulgarian immigration (and Greece and Spain too).

This is different from the EU Digital COVID Certificate which is issued and accepted by EU countries.

It is sad and frustrating that England does not accept EU digital covid certificate to eliminate quarantine. EU generally accepts NHS vaccinations and of course they are the same vaccinations!

But, note that, as of 16/7, UK (along with Cyprus and Spain) has been added to Bulgaria's Red list.

Based on UK infection rate I can understand that. I am currently in Switzerland with family weddings in UK coming up.

Its just that UK does not put EU vaccinations on same level as UK. It is politics rather than risk or science based.

Hey, if it the snake on a stick worked for Moses...  ;)

But I'm not convinced this can be compared to superstition or idolatry, or even a miracle. No matter how you think it originated, Covid infection is real. One of my closest friends (unvaccinated) recently died of Covid after a two week nightmare in ICU as one by one her body systems failed. Reports from most Western countries where older people are mostly vaccinated now show intensive care units filling with seriously ill unvaccinated under 60's with Covid.

I was a little on the fence about vaccination before this, and delayed getting it. Not any longer.

Well, it would be interesting to discuss the symbolism of the נחשתן‎ and whether the vaccine is in fact the mark of the beast, but this isn't the forum for it!

One can accept a vaccine that appears to be effective at preventing serious illness and a quite horrible death from a virus that is very real, without needing to worship at the idol of the NHS.

Back to the facts…the printed PDF from the NHS App is NOT accepted for travel, you need the official paper copy sent by the Government.

Your vaccinations will be visible on the App approx 5 days after the second dose. It is worth signing up for the app beforehand because it took a couple of days for me to get set up.

Certificates will be sent out routinely but at what rate I don’t know. My husband had his second some time ago and nothing has come through for him.

If you need the certificate more urgently you can phone the government helpline and request it. But again you need to wait 5 days from the second dose to ask for it.
