Emergency passport - reentry?

Post new topic

Jwoddis

I have had my passport stolen (UK) and am applying for an emergency travel document so I can go to the US to reset my green card.

Does anyone know if there will be any trouble reentering DR with an emergency doc?  I thought passports needed 6 months still valid.

You cannot re enter on a temporary document.  You will be blocked.

Did you report passport to the police?

Wait for an emergency passport to be delivered, not sure how long that will take.   Then go reset your green card.  Not sure in days of pandemic if they will be lenient on deadlines.

In this case I can not give you much information, but I leave you this link, any problem you want to know is to travel to the DR or any other country you want, just Google the question and guide you from the link but give you exact information, but the most recommended If you go to the Dominican Embassy, your country, if there are, they can best guide you what to do in this case, ..

Anyway I leave you this link enter and read ..

I would think the British Embassy could answer that. If they provide the emergency travel docs, they should know how widely accepted they are. I would think they could give you an actual passport!

I have confirmed that an emergency travel document will get you home only and not back in.  An emergency passport with at least 6 months duration will get you back in.
