Register phone number for bank in Vietnam from overseas

Post new topic

Would this be possible? Get friend in Vietnam to send me Vietnamese SIM card overseas then I put it in my phone here? Would I be able to activate the SIM card from overseas? I need to register my new phone number with the bank as old one has run out.

Are you in Vietnam now?
VN banks normally need you to give them a copy of passport with current visa in.
Your GF can just buy a new sim and you can give number but that may not get around the if not in VN you cant have a current bank account

I enquired about using vietel to roam in other asian countries. It cost a lot of money upfront. Unless your a fortunate soul to pay your phone bill post pay monthly on a ctedit card.  Sim not work overseas or outside of vietnam

From esperience i had a viettel prepaid sim a few years back just for datw while here for two weeks. Once the moth was up even on wifi back home even services like whatsapp stopped working.

Where are you now?  Sending a sim card liek i had from viettel once purchased would tske arpund two weeks to arrive..

I bought a Viettel SIM card on eBay prevaricated for roaming. I can receive SMS messages free in the US everything else costs a significant amount of money but nothing extreme (you wouldn’t want it use it regularly instead of a US SIM). It is also easy to add funds while outside Vietnam. Hope that helps.

If any card Prevaricates I don’t want it around. I have enough of that in my life. 😂

I'm in the UK now. The only reason I need the Vietnamese SIM card is to register Internet banking with the bank in Vietnam. .
