Is this a good reference?

Hello,

I have been scouring the internet for good sources of information so that I can plan a possible retirement in Mexico.

I can across this site that breaks down COL by various cities.

Not being familiar with the costs is it an accurate frame of reference for planning purposes?

numbeo.com/cost-of-living/country_result.jsp?country=Mexico

Thank you.

That depends which city you search around the world.

The site itself is known to be dependable within it's own limitations, and expats worldwide will often encourage people to use it for Cost Of Living (COL) estimates.

But there's no data science behind it.

They depend on people registering with the site and self-reporting their own experiences.

And by their own admission, some cities (such as Mazatlan, as an example) are under reported, so they don't have enough data to provide accurate estimates in those places.

You will get your best results on that website for cities where their data is based on a very large number of contributors.

You'll be able to see that information when you pull up a specific city.

Thank you for the reply. I am just using it for big picture planning not budgeting. An error rate of  /- $200 is fine until I start to visit my top picks.
