Does anyone on this forum has contacts or links whereby they can assist to send money from Mauritius to UK.

I have around Rs 5 Million to transfer to UK, but will not be using the banks due to the high charges. If you are based in UK them maybe come to an arrangement of exchanging cash for cash at the same time in both locations.

Also what do people make of the rate of MUR against GBP.Will it fall or rise.

Thanks.

I was thinking about this few months back, I think it will all come down to how much the savings will be compared to what the banks will give you.

Then the way to do it will be to split the difference in the middle so you both save a fortune. If I was to ever do it, for this sum of money, it will have to be via solicitors. This way you are both protected. I don’t think I will ever trust anyone else with that kind of money.

Saying that, you could just use a specialist currency company who will give you as close a rate to the interbank value. I used a company called AFEX in the uk and on my last transaction got rate of 59.25. Check them out, you might save yourself a small fortune and a lot of ago!
