While this is an interesting article, one has to keep in mind that it uses the word "expat" for "someone sent abroad by his/her company on a cushy financial package" and the quoted salary numbers are strictly only for middle and higher managers (who are part of a globally mobile job market that has little to do with local developments in Singapore).
People earning above S$20k/month are a very rare species in Singapore, even among expats (in the meaning of "someone living and working outside of his/her home country")!
