Daily travelling to Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

Post new topic

Dear members,

My visa is under my Bahrain head office. But I have to travel to KSA on visiting visa for the KSA branch and now I have to travel to KSA on daily basis.

I would really appreciate if anyone can explain the current process which apply on the causeway if I travel daily basis to KSA.

Thanks a lot

1)Negative PCR test within 72 hours of travel.
2) Two doses of approved vaccine as per KSA i.e. no Sinopharm or Sputnik.  OR Two doses of Sinopharm WITH one booster dose of a vaccine approved in KSA i.e. Pfizer, Astra etc.
3) Register vaccination information on Muqeem portal

Process simply is:
1) Approach causeway toll - buy 3rd party insurance at the insurance booth on the right side. Or buy on traffic.bh app
2) Take customs slip on causeway (First set of booths) and move to and cross Bahrain immigration
3) Follow sign which says Non-Saudi as you exit Bahrain.  Go and park next to the cabin.  Go inside.  First you need to show your passport to immigration and they will check it to see if you have been to any banned country within last 14 days. If cleared, you go to MOH counter, show your vaccination status and PCR test.  They will stamp the customs slip
4) Get back in your car and drive towards Saudi immigration.  Show the guard there, the stamped MOH slip
5) Clear immigration and go to Saudi customs.  Pull up to the directed bay, get out of car, open trunk and wait for officer to finish his examination.  Once done, he will again stamp the customs slip
6) Exit the last checkpoint where they will take the slip from you

DO NOT lose this slip and make sure the following stamps are on it - MOH, Saudi Immigration and Saudi customs.

Return journey is simpler.  The customs slip will be taken from you when exiting Saudi. And only Saudi immigration will stamp it.

Daily travel will be a hassle even though causeway is not that busy nowadays.  15-30 minutes max usually but stuff like this Thursday i.e. technical failures can happen.......and then you are stuck.

I'm travelling daily basis to KSA for my works. So how I could manage the PCR at every entry. 72 hours means every 3 days I have to get an PCR? I don't think it is possible.

Do you have any info about this?

Neemish

Are you sure Sinopharm is still not accepted?

Just before 2 days, Saudi Approved Sinopharm and Sinovac.

Yes they approved it WITH a booster dose i.e. you need to take the third jab of an approved vaccine e.g. Pfizer.   It was approved in this manner around the time of Eid for travel.  Now it has been added to the MOH list.   Read this article, they mention it clearly (second paragraph) i.e. booster dose - a lot of newspapers missed this point:

And from the official Saudi newspaper : https://saudigazette.com.sa/article/610193

You have to take a test every 3 days.  A lot of daily travelers are following the same approach.  No other way right now.

And to give you a heads up for your daily travelling plans, today the causeway going into Saudi was a nightmare.  The MOH step, as mentioned above, was overcrowded, with people having to wait in a queue outside in the blazing sun (no shade) for up to 30 to 45 mins.  I saw people fainting.   Thankfully I have to face this crap once a week and probably next week, I will get my vip lane access back.  But I cannot imagine doing this daily without vip lane access.

Thanks a lot for the heads up dear. I don’t mind about any other issue all manageable other than getting CPR test for every 3 days. That is the biggest headache as of now. If you have any idea about it kindly share.

XTang

Why is that a headache?

Do a test Saturday morning. Results come in the evening. You can use that test till Tuesday.  On the way back on Tuesday, immediately upon arrival to Bahrain, do a test. Results will be ready before your departure on Wednesday.  Use the same Thursday.  So basically, all you need to do, with proper timings, is two tests a week.  This is not a big deal. Worry about other issues in the causeway :).

chamara920

Thanks a lot. I’m worrying about my nose too 😂

XTang

That is the unfortunate downside :).  I like Saudi testing.... They do throat swabs.

chamara920

Could you please tell me the location where your attending for PCR test in KSA and Bahrain?

In KSA is that somewhere near to Al Khobar or Dammam?

How much does it cost in KSA per test?

Many Thanks

XTang

You don't need to do a test in KSA. I am referring to the past, when you had to, prior to entering bahrain and also when arriving in KSA.  But if you want, you can book a free test on sehatty app.... It will give you location to go...drive through.

In Bahrain, I use rayyan hospital in Riffa. They charge 9 BD per test.

chamara920

We are so glad to have a person like you. Thanks for the lot of info you gave again...
