Looks like after months of planned deadlines, the eTicket is finally being required and its use is being enforced! I only have experience with American Airlines, but I know that they have been listing it as part of their flight readiness checklist for a while.
Plan ahead and don't wait until the last minute to try to do it on your phone!

About time.
You can't travel to the USA and Europe without all the proper documentation in place so why not here?
Immigration is coming out of the dark ages bit by bit.
Delta Airlines is also sending daily email reminders to do it before your departure date. I’m traveling next Thursday and completed it.
Also, there is a fake website being circulated, that looks exactly like the official one. The e-form for Migration is free, you do not have to pay a peso. So if you are asked for payment, you are on the wrong site.
Here is a first hand story. Myself and girlfriend were going to POP this past May. You could do the e-ticket, known as a QR code, or you could get the paper immigration form on the plane of when you land from immigration personnel. We went to check in with American that morning and were refused boarding because we did not have the QR code, and agent did not know the rules. Missed flight, huge mess with plans, lots of extra time and money spent, letters to American Airlines, etc. Went two days later to STI, without the help of American Airlines, thank you very much. Best to just do the QR code prior to leaving, and there is also another one for departing the DR, but they don't really look at the departure one much.

While the E-Ticket has been possible for some time, paper was still possible back in May. That seems to have finally changed now.
Now it seems that only an E-Ticket will do, but I don't have personal experience with flying for over a year now for reasons not related to E-Tickets..
Somebody posted the link to the English eTicket form recently.
I can't seem to find it and would appreciate if someone could post it again.
Regards

It's the same link posted at the top of the thread. You just have to choose English instead of Spanish.

JetBlue doing the same thing....reminder emails in advance and they walked the QR code around on the plane before leaving JFK so you could fill out the form and get your code before departure.
Delta Airlines would not let you on the plane without it.
When I arrived in SDQ no one asked to see it or scanned the QR code. Departing from SDQ same thing no questions or scanning of the code.
On check in at the Delta Airline counter they asked for my negative COVID results, but when I arrived in the US no one asked for the results.

The DR is relying on the airlines to ensure completion of the eTicket before boarding. Hopefully, you were not asked for the paper immigration and customs forms in SDQ since the eTicket covers all that information.
On departure from SDQ, the return eTicket should be linked to your passport, so they know it's been completed.
For COVID testing, there is no reason for the US to check it after you land because they are also relying on the airlines to ensure all passengers have a negative test prior to boarding. The airlines have to provide proof that they have results for all passengers.
We are flying to the DR at the end of October. How far in advance can you complete the eTicket application ?
Yes.....there is a fake e ticket application online....I fell for it twice until I hit a pay line....then exited that immediately and then found the real one....crazy!!!

Check the FAQ's for any questions you have on how the process works.

It's 72 hours before your flight.
I did mine 48 hours before the flight and saved a copy to my wallet on my phone as cell/data service can be sporadic.
Yes being enforced but makes things much better and quicker. You can do before hand and save the code to sign back in or download it at end.
I am not sure how they are tracking what your bringing besides usual scans before leaving.
I'm getting ready to leave the DR. to the states..........Was wondering how they send you the QR code?......Thru email? or i-phone? For reasons I won't go into, I don't have a cell phone. Thanks in advance!
You get an email or you can download it if you use a computer or phone. Then you can print it and bring it with you.
Once you complete the e-ticket online you can print it. I haven’t ever had it emailed to me. I always screen shot on my phone or print for a hard copy
Thanks for your replies everybody.......It really cleared things up for me!
i would print the form out and bring it with you when you check in at the airport. Last year, I submitted online and printed out the form. When I arrived at the airport in the USA, the online form had not gone through the system. The guy at the check in counter took the printed for and I was on my way! Leaving the USA in about 3 weeks for the DR. I am definately taking the form with me
Best thing is to do the e-ticket prior to leaving the states, and then you can print both entry and exit e-ticket QR codes. Last month there was also a form that American Airlines also had us fill out at the airport. Another form for covid, even though we just had the 24 hr test result. Getting very difficult to travel even with vaccine card and booster shots. Almost not worth it anymore.
@DRVisitor American Airlines has been requiring it both ways.
@ddmcgheeDo they accept just one e ticket - ie filled out for coming in for both ways or need it two different one incoming and one outgoing?- @DRVisitor
Do USA citizens need an eTicket to return to the USA? All that I found was covid test requirement.- @LT American
@huddleston1 thanks, I have lived here over 2 years and have not filled out the eTicket when I return to the USA. Will do so now
