Working remotely from the UK for a foreign company

Here's the complete situation :
My partner is moving to London in two months. I am currently employed by a french company for which I've been working remotely from the start. I would like to follow my partner to London and continue working remotely for the same french company.
Is it possible at all ? Do I need a visa and if yes, which one ?

Some more info : this would be for a duration of less than 6 months. My partner and I are not married nor engaged. We're both of french nationality. My partner will have a visa that is tied to his employer.

Thanks !

Hi and welcome to the Forum.

The bottom line is yes, you do need a work visa if you're going to work in the UK.  But, it's a lot of fuss and very expensive for a short 6-month trip.

I could go into a great deal of detail on this subject, but nobody is going to know if you're working from home on a laptop and what they don't know isn't going to hurt them.

You need to be aware that unless your partner's medical policy covers you, you won't be covered by the UK healthcare (NHS), so you need to make some arrangements for some kind of tourist cover from France for the duration.

Hope this helps.
