East coast or west coast beaches

My boyfriend and I are contemplating moving to CR and want to live close to the beach. Which coast is better? I thought I saw some where that the east coast has a problem with mosquitos.

Mosquitos are a problem everywhere in Costa Rica. You might escape them at the very highest elevations, where it gets cold enough.
The main differences between the east and west coast beaches are (1) the culture, ambiance, and (2) the "rainy season" - it's in different months. The Caribbean gets a lot of rain in November, December, January, just as it is drying up on the Pacific side. Caribbean is dryer in August and September, when it is wet on the Pacific.
Only you can decide which community is "better."
