This forum seems to be slowly dying. Just 4/5 posts a day compared to a few years ago when it was a very active forum.
Reminds me of the old Thorn Tree forum, once very popular, now gone due to over-policing and PC. Hopefully Expat won't have the same demise.

Your correct, there are around half a dozen people who are on regular.
There are next to no newbies due to no travel.
Nothing is going on due to covid so no one is doing anything interesting.
Plus the usual trolls are being spotted in a couple of posts due to their familiar MO.
The PC part is also killing conversations (not just here) with people not liking different view points and opinions which kills conversations and makes for a dull and boring read when everyone says the same thing.
Maybe a thread about what/how you are coping in these covid times, what you wish was available and hobbies or pastime you pine for that you have not done for ages...

Does slapping the salami whilst watching 70's Danish porn in your parent's basement come under things that you "have not done for ages".

Far fewer expats - One hopes covid buggers off quickly

Over policing?
Contact detais, spam, conspiracy rubbish and politics tend to disappear quickly. I can't speak for the forum's management, but I loath PC with a passion - mostly because I believe it causes a lot more problems than it solves.
When that bunch get to changing history and being selective about which history they want burried, that really gets to me.
My PC policy is be nice to everyone and hope they return the favour.

Would removing such a reference be over-policing or protecting carpets from vomit stains?

Carpets are old-school, vomit resistant tiles are all the rage.

Copious quantities of bleach and anything that get rid of bad smells might very well be in order, but those items are likely to cost a lot less than cleaning carpets.
However, cleaning aside, would removing the reference be over-policeing?

Depends on your definition of over-policing.
You may want to consult Diksha, she may be able to read the regulations to help satisfy your curiosity.
Well at least you started a thread that got some interest,,, now try it again without the porn and salami references

Some of us moved away. I don't have much to say any longer.
Even the potential noobs finally know by now they can't come so not too many "can I come?" questions.
Pretty much anyone that is "there" has been there for close to two years, save a handfull of new arrivals, so not as many stupid questions.
I don't think there are many PC problems but I don't tend to be a pot stirrer.
Even the old trolls that came back with multiple accounts have finally gotten bored.

The PC bit was more about the Thorn Tree Forum.
I really should be in Vietnam now, but like everyone else I can't get a visa. As an alternative I am spending the winter in Lanzarote playing a few gigs to keep boredom at bay and help pay for my accommodation. As soon as I get my visa I will be back to Vietnam.

& of those half dozen people 50% of them dont even live here they just dream about it & post long winded & boring essays mostly from what they pick up off the internet.

"Slow Death" is a bit harsh tbh, but the whole site is very quiet and has been so in 2 years. It is all down to COVID. Countries going into lockdown, travel restrictions. Just when you think things are moving again everything goes back to square one. In Austria, we are in our 4th lockdown. I know a lot of people went back to their home country because they had no jobs and could not afford the rent.

Whilst the above is true, it's way more boring that the rest of the answers to this thread
My tablet's battery is at 15% so is demanding to be charged, and I can't be bothered to turn my Chromebook on at this time of night because my body's battery is flatter than a squirrel on an autobahn.
I will turn my phone off as well so some mindless item from England doesn't call me and sound cheerful.
However, a Seoulful (Not a mis-spell - more a terrible joke) chap from Korea can send me a WA message as he might want to buy a large pile
of scrap Lithium I happen to know where I can lay my hands on.

Only time will tell. Thorn Tree used to be the biggest online forum. Where is it now?
Allow me to adjust ...

8. Everyone here is stuck where they are, so not asking about moving to Quy Nhon every week.
9. Ciambella left = no knowledge to gain, no purpose for being.
10. Finding more action in Facebook Groups & r/vietnam & dreamy YT videos of Bali, Thailand, Oaxaca.
Think happy thoughts - At least you aren't searching google for donkey sex on St. Kitts

I'm 59, fat, and stressed so the dude with the big grass cutter might well visit this evening. I was hoping to lose my virginity before he got me, but those are the breaks.
