@Julien We are kiwi's from north of Auckland in New Zealand.

My partner is working in Xiamen and recently got his residents visa.  I am going to join him mid January 2023 if all goes well when I apply for my visa.

He is currently sharing an apartment with another kiwi but we want to find a place of our own.  We have been advised to look at apartments in Binbei on the island, as we are told a number of ex pats live in that area.

Can you or anyone recommend an apartment complex or a local real estate agent that speaks English as my partner would like to find something for 01 January 2023 and be settled in before I arrive and he does not speak any mandarin.  He is able to bring an interpreter with him but would be more comfortable at this point dealing with an English speaking person.

We are looking for 2 bedrooms in the hopes that one or more of our children might come to visit if and when the isolation period of 10 days is revised.  We realise this might take quite some time due to covid but one can only but hope.

Any suggestions would certainly be appreciated.

As I won't be working and don't yet speak any mandarin myself, I would also welcome suggestions on sites to join to meet up with other English speaking ex pats.

Thanks for your time.  I am really looking forward to my time in Xiamen.
