Hello Morocco community!

My name is Robert (American-born, living in Spain) - Morocco is perhaps the most fabulous country I've ever visited!

I'm traveling to Marrakech again in 2 weeks to look at Riads, and was wondering - does anybody here have experience owning/managing a Riad? I know tourism is a bit down due to Covid (it is everywhere, I guess), but I know it'll bounce back fast!

Would appreciate a DM if anybody has any experience to offer.

Best wishes :)
Robert

@Vakil Thanks so much for reaching out! As you know to access certain stuff you need a carte sejour and this something we don't have access for. When we tried to apply for residency, my husband was told by one of the officers he should marry a Moroccan. And this is something we aren't interested in. We are trying to start fresh in a Muslim country to give our kids a good opportunity with the language and good community. So we are trying to see how we can get established as a resident. Thank you again for any information you can share with me, brother

Vakil
@Umm Junainah sorry to hear this.

Actually there are a few ways to become resident.

One is the family marriage option

Others is retiring in Morocco

Investment in morocco

Setting up a business in morocco you can obtain residency by any of these. It really comes down to your financial situation also happy to help and guide where I can

Hello all.

I recently moved to Casablanca from the UK (following marriage to a Moroccan girl).

It's great to be here and I am enjoying my discovery of Morocco.

My only issue has been language, so I am desperately trying to learn French (finding French hard to grasp though!).

It would be great to connect with other English speakers in Morocco.

Best wishes,
Zafar

Hi Zafar,

Great to meet you!

I'm from the UK as well but I focus on learning Darija.

I never wanted to learn French and I'm not about to start 🙃

It would be great to connect!
