Please allow me to introduce you to Life In The Rai.  It’s a new YouTube channel that will show you the reality of life in Chiang Rai, Thailand.  Our future videos will be chats with local residents and ex-pats who tell you about their life in the Rai, and we will visit businesses and they will tell what they do, why they do it, and what they sell.

I would be interested in learning more about Chiang Rai. I currently live in Nonthaburi. Patrick

I don't live in Chiang Rai but I visit there many times over the 20 years that I  have lived in Thailand. To me, it is a big country town and a nice place to live. The air pollution is less than in Chiang Mai and the traffic noise is less. Shopping is also good, but they seem to have more earthquakes than most cities up north. You really need to spend some time there before you move there.

Dear rethaier,

hope you are doing well. Are you here to help people who are living or willing to live in Chiang Rai, or just to promote your youtube channel ?

I mean your help will be greatly be appreciated on Expat.com :)

It is a great place to live.

In my 11 years in Chiang Rai, I have experienced only 1 small quake.

Thanks for your comment.  All of my videos are intended to help people learn more about Chiang Rai beyond the tourist spots.  Our videos consist of chats with people telling us how they live, why they stay, where they eat, have a coffee, etc.

Isn't it true, however, that you do offer visa assistance...

...through your company "Retire in Chiang Rai" which you registered in the business directory?

There is a fine line between sharing a specific YouTube video to share on-point information, and promoting a YouTube channel as a way to promote your business (which would be a violation of the Forum Code of Conduct).

Thankfully, the website owner Julien keeps an eye peeled for potential spammers.

I share his optimistic tone in hoping that your sole motivation here is to be helpful.

Cheers!

If we are talking about Quakes on or near Ching Rai please let's tell the truth.

I appreciate your concerns but YouTube is just a storage vessel for my videos.

Yes, my wife helps people get through the initial visa process and if that happened to be mentioned in a video, how would that be a problem.

I am simply planning on showing people what life in Chiang Rai is all about.  This I will do by chatting with residents, both Thai and ex-pat, visiting lawyers, accountants, businesses, etc. to learn what they offer or can do.

Frankly, I do not really get what is concerning you, my motive is pure.

We need someone to protect us from spam and undo posting... After all we have forgotten how to not read a posting and/or make up our own minds what is and isn't useful to us.

It's obvious that ADMIN shared my concerns, because they have already deleted at least two new threads you attempted to start.

They will possibly tolerate you adding links to videos in THIS thread, subject to review of the full contents of the videos.

As long as your "sharing" doesn't cross the line into "promotion" of a business, your input will surely be welcome by many.

Everyone will appreciate you playing by the rules of the forum.

... and if you don't respect our rules, we'll intervene again.

I am retired and bored, I don't like golf and I don't drink.  Thus I decided to fill my time talking to Chiang Rai people so they can share their experiences or what they have to offer.  I doubt I will live long enough for this channel to ever be a money-maker, and promoting a business will not be done.  Bear with me, I am a novice at this.  What was removed and why I don't want to repeat it.

2 more removed by me just now as per your position.

Posters should note, the links are directly asking for money, thus are advertising.
