SOCPA Membership & Change of Profession on Iqama

Hi Aliyyan. Financial Analyst does not require Socpa Certification. I have friend who's iqama profession is Financial Analyst but not Socpa member. If you need more information, just visit socpa website to see list of professions which requires socpa certifications.

The above is correct.   Financial Analyst is not a SOCPA profession.  However, the problem is (and I have mentioned this on other threads), nowadays, profession change is practically blocked.  It is handled through a special committee in MOHRE.  If you browse the other threads where I have commented, you will see what was the process I followed to change my profession from marketing to Finance.   And this process requires you to be a member of SOCPA with a verified degree (i.e. not temporary accounting technician).

Dear, After i get the SOCPA membership (As I have attested Finance degrees & previously my old visa I have accountant profession ) how I can change my profession? My company HR representative has to visit the labor office to change this or it can be done through Absher/online platform itself.

He has to visit MOHRE and file a request for committee review.   If they approve then the system will give prompt for payment to change profession.

My company have applied for Change of profession on Iqama from Labour to Public accountant on the basis of Temporary SOCPA certificate and My Iqama change profession request is pending since two days ….

What should i do? Will they approve or the process is changes now?

Just wait and see.  Nothing you can do.

What you suggest, for which accounting profession i should apply to get easy approval?

There is no such thing as an easy approval.  MOHRE will decide the profession based on degree and company information provided about the job you are doing.  In most cases, you cannot pick and choose. 

My profession change request rejected fourth time without any objection.

Can anyone recently changed their profession based on SOCPA? If yes then which profession.

How to get permanant membership?

And Nitaqat status of my company is Platinum.

But despite of these things i dint get any objection?

@XTang Dear permanat membership is usually after minimum 6 months, so u mean i need to work on labor profession for 6 months??

Its been a month since i have arrived in KSA and searching for a job. My profession on iqama is accountant and i wanted to change it to financial analyst because i have got offer letter from a company and they have asked to change my profession from accountant to financial analyst. Is it possible to change the above stated profession?

Please guide.

@XTang Dear, I have a question? I have got my Degree attested by Saudi Culture and Saudi embassy and now I have registered in SOCPA... Will SOCPA again verify my degree from University? And how long SOCPA takes to email my university... So that I could approach my university for a quick response. Or share your experience which could be helpful in regards.

I have done BBA 4 yr (includes 12 Accounting Credit Hours and MBA 1.5 yr (includes 3 Accounting Credit Hours)

@SAM773 If you really have the required educational degree that supports (iqama) being a general accountant then there is no question for the renewal of your iqama as your socpa membership remain temporary associate active status. On the e-services of socpa membership, check the remarks and follow. I have the same dilemma last July 2022 with invalid status temporary associate member, reading the remarks, provide the clear documents, sending emails etc.. and fortunately my membership was re-activated and iqama was renewed. My advice, read the remarks on your socpa profile  & provide the necessary clear attachment.

I need information about SOCPA VAT Specialist Certificate. My profession is Internal Auditor فني تدقيق حسابات  having temporary membership with SOCPA & degree is under verification. As per SOCPA requirements I have fulfill the academic credit HRS.

My question is that, is there any requirements from SOCPA for Internal Auditors to getting VAT Specialist Certificate from SOCPA? Is it compulsory or not? Please answer.

SOCPA registration is for Accounting professions on Iqama or with a valid accounting degree who wishes to register for profession change.

If the registration is canceled by SOCPA due to Credit Hours, does charging it to Financial Analyst helps it to renew Iqama without SOCPA registration?

17.    financial audit supervisor;

18.    cost clerk

@Jon1723 I called SOCPA and asked them does it require SOCPA membership for Financial Analyst or Economic Specialist they said it depends upon MHRSD if they doesn't asked for the membership under these professions then you don't have to register.

So what will be the best option here either to change profession to Financial Analyst and renew Iqama or change it to any other profession out of the range of SOCPA?

No I checked from Socpa regional office and get confirmation that near later this as well shall required Socpa membership.

I mean to say Financial analyst shall also become in list very coming soon.

I suggest change to other profession out from finance sector.

Not opened dear still it is closed to change from Accountant to else any.

Dear Asif it depends on your verification process and authorised institute by SOCPA.

Then they shall change to permanent or cancellation.
