I already searched about the requirements needed but need your personal experience on how you process your visa. Thank you so much!

Welcome to the expat.com board, and good luck with finding a job abroad!

If you want comments from Filipinos who have already made the move, I don't think this site is likely to be very helpful. I'd guess there might be a more helpful Filipino group on Facebook.

Unfortunately, relocating to the EU can be a bit challenging for non-EU citizens. And the Filipino passport doesn't grant visa-free visiting to many countries. And, to make it even harder, there is no Bulgarian Embassy in the Philippines, so you have to go to another country to apply.

For tourism (up to 90 days) you need a C visa, and for longer term (and for residence) you need a D visa.

I doubt the Filipino population in Bulgaria is very large. Salaries here are low, so if you can get to the EU, it's better to work in Spain or Germany or Cyprus. And some other EU countries are easier because they have visas specifically for certain workers such as au pairs, home help, agricultural workers, or qualified nurses. However, even so, I think it's probably easier to work in Asia or the Middle East.

Think my answers have been stated
You will need a visa but seeing as there is no bulgarian embassy in the philipines..where will you apply.
Possibly by post via the nearest embassy in another country.
Or write to the visa section in Sofia
Tbh..i am not sure..as although i am a resident..i have never needed a visa to enter bulgaria before i was.
Sorry i cannot be of more help.

There is a Facebook page called Filipino Community in Bulgaria.  On there you will find all the information you need about visas to Bulgaria.  You will need a sponsor and you have to apply in Vietnam at the Bulgarian embassy. I  hope that helps.

why is it that Bulgarians who wants to visit the Philippines as a tourist doesn't need a visa from the Philippine Consulate. On the other hand, Filipinos should have a visa to enter Bulgaria.

Both countries should agree the same protocol regarding free visa.

@Ronald Ruivivar

They should..but dont..its up to each country to ask for a visa or not to.

Its now the same for the uk for eu citizens..a visa is needed for work and from next year an eu visa will be required for uk citizens entering the eu

But its cheap..7 euros for a 3 yr visa. But free if your over retirement age.

Its not just UK citizens, its anyone from outside the EU. Its just the same with USA you need one.

7 euros for 3 years rings a bell... so I think you're referring to ETIAS, the EU equivalent of America's ESTA.

Technically, it's not a visa, it's a "travel authorization". And is required for travellers from outside the EU whose passport confers visa-free travel rights (e.g. UK, USA). I believe that countries that require visas (e.g.  Philippines) still need those visas (and, presumably, don't need an ETIAS).

Well you don't need to get that information from a Filipino because we are all in the same boat as regards being 3rd party nationals  wanting to go to Bulgaria .. so my questions are what type of visa are you looking for c type or d type ? Why are you going ?  Holiday. Work or to  retire?

All these things are very relevant.  My wife is a Filipina and for a couple of years she had to have a c type visa for holidays when they changed entry requirements for family members who were 3rd party nationals of EU citizens due to applying Shengen visa rules.. my wife is now dual citizenship of Philippines and the UK  so no visa required now
