Hi guys,

Ive got my embassy appointment in 3 weeks, & i just want to double check from someone who has gone through the process that my understanding is correct.

UK documents before arriving in Morocco- —

  • Birth Certificate
  • 3 months of payslips & salary letter
  • Acro police certificate
  • order moroccan criminal certificate online
  • Email documents to a translator

Documents to obtain in morocco

  • Certificate of good health & no pregnancy
  • 4/6 passport size photos
  • 2 documents from the British embassy
  • 3 10dh stamps
  • Moroccan criminal certificate

Im going to write out out plan, please please please correct me if anything has been missed of is wrong

The day i arrive in morocco, we are going to get our certificate of good health, 3 10dh stamps and 4/6 passport sized photos. Then make our way to rabat.

i have my appointment at 9:00am, which i bring my partners ID card with me, as i understand he can not come i side the room?

After obtaining the 2 documents from the Embassy were going to take them to the Moroccan Ministry of Interior to get them legalised and then email them to the translator.

Next we are going to pick up the Moroccan criminal certificate from the ministry of justice and then head back to Agadir.

The next day, we are going to pick up all translated documents and get photocopies of my passport and photocopies of all the translated documents and take them to the legislated office to get them certified as copies.

once this is all complete, hand over two files to the Adoul we have and go from there.

have i missed anything out?

& do i need to get my passport photocopies translated? If yes, can a copy of my passport be emailed prior?

Or do i need a photocopy of my passport page and entry date when im there, and it can be submit In english.

Im confused on when i need to be photocopying my passport.

also, what are the stamps for?

thankyou for anyyyyyy responses and advice :)

@kellyjackson1986 get your fiance to court to the court 'mixed marriages' department and obtain a list of requirements from the secretary.

I am so confused as to what documents I need to legalised to get married, help!

I am from the UK and going over to Morocco hopefully to get married this October.  I already have an appointment with the embassy but I am unsure regarding the situation about what documents need to be translated, what document needs to be legalised, and what document can use copies and how many copies I need.

Like my birth certificate…..I only have 1 copy…as is most people.  I will not and cannot give that away.  Do they need to just look at it or do I need to submit a photocopy?

Do I submit a photocopy then or do I get that translated?

Do I legalise the original (which sounds suspect to me….why would I need to legalise a legal document……). Or Do I legalise a photocopy?  Same as my Passport.  How do I submit my passport to the judge? Same as the letter from Employer or payslips.  They will all be in English in their original form.

Can someone please advise me?  I am confused as to what document I need to legalise and I find the idea of legalising an already legal document like ACRO to be weird.

@Mohammed Ali Ghanname

What kind of Stamps ? Like postage stamps? 1st Class?

How do I get these stamps?

Bill Shepherd

Go through all of that, or.....simply get married overseas and just *register* the marriage in Morocco.

Requirements:

1) Notarised/apostilled marriage certificate

2) Translation of above

3) Certificate of conversion to Islam (if the male was not born in a Muslim country)

Done!

Me and my fiancé finished till police verification process.

Court are going through strikes so we got our documents received at court confirmation after almost 15 days and 4 follow up visits.

Now I am not sure how to plan my next process next week as court are to be open on Monday and Friday, that's what I am told.

muzzichuzzi

Anyone need help feel free to drop me a line as I just got married in May and it only took me 3 working days and there are few things that you have to be very mindful of that as a slightest mistake would cost you a setback on time.

@muzzichuzzi

Salaam bro

Just following up on your message about helping anyone in the process of getting married in Morocco.

What city did you manage to get everything done in three days?! That's impressive!

Any advise/help appreciated.

Thank you

@muzzichuzzi

3 days? I mean is that how long it took you to process the marriage application?

U M52

@Bill Shepherd

But that depends on the girl you want to marry. I mean most of the time it isn't easy for the Moroccan girl as well as her family to accept that.

@khanc85

Guys I have an appointment at the consulate in Marrakesh in January if anyone can please kindly state what I need exactly before arrival I would be greatful thank you kindly

Bill Shepherd

@U M52

'Accept' what?

Bill Shepherd

@U M52

What are you talking about? You get married next door in Ceuta or Gibraltar, have the party in Morocco, and register the marriage in Morocco. It takes no more than one week! You save months of wasted time and A LOT of money!

AdamSu

@Rvrtltn

They tell you in the confirmation email exactly what you need. Your passport and your partners Moroccan I.D.

And a card to make payment. Nothing more to it. Quite straightforward.

Hi, could you let me know if I am able to just do the notarising and apostille in the UK before travelling to Morocco to save time instead of having to go to the consulate.

Secondly which documents need to be notarised...I am divorced, I know the CNI (certificate of no impediment) must be, but other documents like divorce papers, naturalisation certificates and passport etc.

Thank you

R124JU

@jd221279

Hi,

I'd like to know which documents need to be notarised and apostilled, divorce papers, Certificate of No impediment, naturalisation certificate....etc?

Also could I notarise and apostille those in the UK before I travel instead of having to go to the British consulate?

hanunyafa1

I can't find any where a link to make an appointment at the British Consulate/ Embassy in Morocco to complete the affirmation.

The gov uk webpage has the process to complete the appllication and says that an appointment can be made after that.

Problem is I have to be divorced before I can complete it, and I am not divorced yet (it's in process) but I keep reading that it's necessary to make an appointment months in advance.

Do I really have to wait for my divorce to be finalised and then apply after that and wait months more for an appointment?

Yasmin21

If you know the date on or around of your divorce then you can still make an appointment after that date. You have to show your final divorce order at the embassy.

Yasmin21

@R124JU

Divorce papers yes, in UK. Other two, I don't know.

hanunyafa1

How do I make an appointment? Is there a link?

Yasmin21

Try here

hanunyafa1

Okay, thanks. I emailed the British embassy in Rabat earlier about this, and they replied immediately that I couldn't make an appointment without completing the application online first. Alhamdulillah. It seems that I can.

Yasmin21

@hanunyafa1

You can, I did.

I then paid for my appointment after.

Alhamdulillah.

Umarulhasan

@Yasmin21

hi Yasmin,

can the final divorce order be e-Apostille or paper based Apostille?

Yasmin21

@Umarulhasan

I got mine paper based. I believe that's the only type they will accept.
