Unlimited Single Permit - 2022 - processing time

Hello all,

I came from India and started living in Brussels, Belgium since June 2019 on a local contract. Since I have completed 3 years now, am I eligible for the unlimited single permit? Based on the official information - https://economy-employment.brussels/sin … -unlimited it seems so.

What I am not sure is whether this would simply change the scope in the market meaning => from 'marché du travail: limité' to 'marché du travail: illimité' or it would also extend the period of stay?

Has anyone applied for it recently and knows how long it will take for the process to complete?

@Somasundaram39 I would advise you to check previous topics on processing times (unlimited single permit… AND single permit..), people are posting their processing times continuously there. I got unlimited single permit in February, it took 4 months in Flanders. Processing times are same for single permit. Good luck!

Thanks @Bel_expat for your reply and I will follow the group posts.

One small follow up query - Does the unlimited single permit extends the time period of stay in Belgium or that remains same?

@Somasundaram39 with unlimited single permit your residence is renewed as 1 year from date of single permit, you have to follow and renew residency each year and after 5 years it becomes permanent I think but please check that.
