Odd contact requests

Post new topic

Hi,

For some reason, I have been getting random contact requests, always from men ,who say basically nothing about themselves and are always in another part of the world. Is this happening for anyone else?
shirleykoch12
Yes, and they do not include a photo of themselves.

@paddyroyal No i dont seem to receive those messages but maybe because I am a man, i dont know. Just use commom sense and your head before responding. Are they Colombian men?

Not guilty. :-)1f602.svg1f923.svg1f60e.svg
I get these kinda of friend requests on FB a lot. Pages with zero information.

When I receive a contact request,
I check my memory to see if I
have had any interaction with
the requester .. or know anything
about what they may have posted.

My attitude about contact requests
is that unless the requester has
sent me a message or I knew
of them prior to the request,
I just ignore the request.

My thinking is:  what good can
granting the request possibly
do .. other than provide
some unknown party the
opportunity to spam the
members of the site.

Ipso facto, I ignore
most requests from
unknowns.

As for those unknown
requesters that
essentially say, hey, I need
to communicate with you
about something important
without giving any idea
what that would be ..
I double ignore those.

I ignore the FaceBook  contact requests from young Latina women on facebook because my Jealous Latina "wife" would give me a tongue lashing

Thanks for all the responses!

Julien, I wouldn't describe them as "weird" exactly, just men who are always in or going to a different part of the world and who make a contact request with no info about themselves.

I'm just rejecting them. If anything shows up as overtly weird, I would report it.

I get them occasionally, including one this past week.  Most masquerade as buff, macho military types.  I assume they are preying on lonely women, hoping to score a Sugar Daddy situation.  (The most recent one I got was in response to a positive post I made on FB on a pair of shoes.  Totally weird.)

Block them if you can.

Report them as soon as they message you. These are scammers trying to lure people. They often have military officers as profile pics.

Sorry about that.
