Gas by butimbusy

Hi, We just got the gas bill (propane tank) for our apartment. It's over 1500 Rs per month. This seems high to me - what are others paying? We use gas for hot water and the cook top for a family of 4. Thanks, Barbara

Mikl_C

Hi Barbara, Even 1100 is much too expensive... Especially that is seems that it is your landlord your landlord who is fixing the prices. And domestic gas price is fixed by government and i doubt very much it is liquefied petroleum gas (the one ... Read More

Mikl_C

Hi Barbara, The gas bill (Rs.1500 /month) is scandalously expensive. Knowing that in Mauritius gas is sold solely in cylinders and for a rough idea, one 13kg cylinder is 330rs. We are 2, use the gas for cooking and hot water shower and one such ... Read More

Hi, The best way to explore would be to rent a good scooter - and wander around, lots of sceneries. Then, there's a guy called Daniel, a French expat, who has a boat and does day trips with traditional fishermen, snorkelling and so on. Much better ... Read More

Well maybe that would be a real waste of money: you can buy a decent new 125cc motorcycle or scooter for 50k rupees approx. If you sell it after 5 months, say to be pessimistic you sell it at half the price, you still win. Read More
