Does anyone know how to contact the Philippine post office?
I ordered an aircon belt for my multicab from Megazip in Japan. I paid over $23 for 4-7 day expedited shipping for the tiny belt which probably weighs 2 or 3 ounces. When I complained that the belt was late they just bumped the delivery date up a week. It looks like they shipped on the cheap since it is now in possession of the Philippine post office or PhlPost which is not good because there is no post office on Biliran island. There is a post office in Ormoc and Tacloban but the phone numbers do not work. I've wasted a lot of load trying to contact the main PhlPost number and they do not answer email. Megazip says it is my responsibility to locate the lost package.
@Moon Dog BIG MISTAKE using PhilPost. I mentioned earlier it took SIX MONTHS to receive a package from Canadian Pharmacy via PhilPost. Don't do that anymore unless you just want to add Stress into your life.
@Moon Dog
Did the supplier choose the method of delivery or did you specify the carrier? If the former applies and you paid by credit card just inform the credit card provider and they should recredit your account.
Not for Moondog, but for anyone using online ordering.
(1) Never order without tracking . . . .No tracking no order.
(2) If it cost more for shipping with tracking Pay it.
(3) If possible payment should be made c.o.d., cash only, don't verbally give your credit or debit info to anyone.
I selected "expedited 4-7 day shipping" when I ordered the belt and paid $23 to have it shipped. Megazip probably only paid a couple bucks shipping because the tracking shows it began with Japan Post and was delivered to PhlPost on Aug. 26 with no further movement. It is a very small belt that would easily fit in a small padded envelope. I had no idea they were going to send it by PhlPost and Megazip says it is my responsibility to locate the package.
I've learned there are a couple PhlPost offices on Biliran, they are just not listed on the PhlPost main website. Problem is they don't have working phone numbers or no phone number at all. When I call (02) 8545 257 there is a message about adding something to the beginning of the number but it is not clear what that is.
Update, I went on the PhlPost Facebook page and started writing some bad reviews and all of a sudden I started receiving responses. I did the same on the local PhlPost Facebook and I now have working local phone numbers and people looking for my package.
SEEMS YOU AWAKENED SOMEONE(S) Congratulations on your sticking to it! Never Give Up!!
@Moon Dog as you know facebook is the name of the game here! Nobody answers telephones. Too busy surfing facebook or tiktok. Well done will i com
I got a little flurry of activity but none of the promises were kept. I feel I'm not any closer to receiving my aircon v-belt.
The old belt was slipping and finally broke. There are no DA62T belts on Lazada or Shopee so I took a chance and ordered a belt for a DA63T. When it arrived I saw that the diameter is the same but it is a ribbed belt and my multicab takes a v-belt. The ribbed belt is about twice as wide and has 4 raised ribs which gave me an idea. I took a razor knife and carefully cut the belt between the 2nd and 3rd rib all the way around. It has been working great and now I actually have 2 belts for the price of one which should hold me until the right one arrives.
Improvise as we do here Moon Dog.
Cheers, Steve.

Better to get multicab parts on shopee or lazada...! if you don't have a local PO... only buy from sellers that use Fedex or DHL
@Moon Dog I found a DA62T Belt on this Website from Japan - maybe the same as your original purchase?

Trying to reply to Steve Spickler but only @steve spickler is appearing on my end. The text didn't make it. Looks like this one is working so I can post my reply.
Good advice Steve. I do buy what I can on Lazada and Shopee but I only see the A/C belt available from Japan or the US on Amazon and eBay. I've bought a couple things on Lazada from Autosmart. The guy usually answers my messages and even vowed to begin stocking the A/C belt for me some day.
@talamban Thanks, I took a look and I'm not convinced the A/C belt in the set is my belt since the A/C belts for DA62T and DA63T are different. One is a ribbed belt and the other (mine) is a v-belt, but I'm currently running 1/2 for a ribbed belt. To be sure it would have to show a part number 95141-78A10 or L:780. I see plenty of the the fan/alternator belts on Lazada. It's the aircon belt that is hard to find.
i never use Phili post as it takes forever to get the mail and even when its registered mail will sit in manila until they fill a container to send to mindanao.
i only use private courier or orders from shopee to guarantee delivery.
I selected "4 to 7 day by EMS" (Express Mail Service). Sounds like a fast enough delivery service but little did I know that EMS hands it off to PhlPost when it arrives in Manila. To this day the package has not arrived. I'm wiser now, no more EMS.
@Moon Dog They're a bunch of crooks. My package with a tracking number wasn't tracking for 2 month until it arrived to Germany, In Germany DHL handled the delivery, they did 2 delivery attempts, unsuccessful for unknown reason as neither DHL no PHLPOst didn't reply multiple emails I sent them, and in the end they just sent it back to the sender. Crappy service, never again!
@Doug Heathjr Which private courier is reliable there?
I stumbled across a blog by a guy in the US who posted specs on the same year and model multicab as I have. He cross referenced a lot of items including the A/C belt. He found a Gates belt the correct dimensions and Gates is my preferred belt so I checked the price on Amazon and found it selling for $11.91 with $11.92 shipping to Biliran, Philippines. With my $9.06 reward points applied I only pay $14.77 including shipping for a Gates belt delivered to the Philippines so I ordered it. I paid over $36 total for the belt from Megazip in Japan that may never arrive.
Tracking shows my order from Japan did finally move. It landed in Manila and was handed to PhlPost on August 25. On September 19 it is now "Enroute to next office".
@iuliiam i always use LBC express here in the Philippines for my international and local mail.
Never had any problems and slighty cheaper than the major courier services.
@Moon Dog enroute to office means thrown in a container in manila waiting for it to fill before shipping out. Don't hold your breath.
Latest update, the Biliran, Biliran post office texted me yesterday that the package had arrived and I'm to pay P112 "custom's fee" when picking up the package. I texted back that I'm not driving 40 minutes one way and I'm not paying the custom's fee so send it back.
I emailed Megazip that I was returning the package and please refund my money. Megazip said they would issue a refund after they receive the package and would I please close the dispute I opened with my bank. I told them I would not.
I have a better A/C belt coming from Amazon and with my reward points applied I'm saving 20 bucks! Without the reward points I would still save over $11.
Phill Post? Don't waste your time, a little like most things here. I like most have Cignal TV and pay them monthly with g cash, we have asked Cignal 3 or 4 times to stop sending forest destroying paper bills as they email us religiously the day before the bill is due as well as g cash sending a msg that Cignal is due tomorrow....... After 3 years Cignal still destroy the forests and send us their paper bill through
Phil Post and generally we get 3 out of date bills delivered in one hit and once 4 months out of date.
Efficient? Productive or just jobs for the boys and slack?
OMO.
Cheers, Steve.
During all this I typed some choice words to PhlPost management. Today I got a text from one of the postal workers who was CCed on the conversation. This is the last part of the text, word for word, I won't reveal his identity for obvious reasons:
"...but I appreciate that you directly complain in our Management Office for this concern.... because we here in our Field are no voice...even we React always to them..."
He appreciated that I told them what he wanted to say but would have probably lost his job if he had done so.
