Short Term Visit Pass extension for my parents - Rejected

Post new topic

carennatalpalcon

My parents applied first time for a short term visit pass extension so they can spend more time with us for Christmas and New Year, but sadly they got rejected. This is the first time they are applying since we have not seen them after pandemic. Is it because the reason for extending is to spend more time during this holidays? What are the chances it can be approve if we re-apply? Should we go to ICA to appeal? Or is it too early for them to apply for extension? They entered 11th Nov and apply this 22nd Nov.

Any similar scenario and advise? Thank you.

Any extension of STVP needs a good reason. Apparently, wanting to stay with family members is not a good reason (in the eyes of ICA). The correct visa type for that purpose is DP or LTVP.
