Picking up renewed Permesso di Soggiorno

Hi everybody!

New to this forum. I'm a foreign student living in Italy and I have a question.

I renewed my permesso di soggiorno and already had my appointment on the 17th of November for the fingerprints and documentations. I received an SMS this morning saying my permesso is ready for pick up, and they gave me the date and time (29th of December). Last year, I've picked it up after the date specified, but this time I'm wondering if it would be possible to pick it up earlier. I'm going out of the country on the 22nd of December so I really need it to re-enter. Does anyone have any experience with this? The website also states that my permesso is ready for pickup so I'm wondering if the date is simply a formality or if it really isn't prepared til the 29th of December?

Thank you in advance!

Jolly Julie

@Diem-Quynh Trinh:  I feel that since the message reads that the PS is ready and NOT it WILL BE ready, you loose nothing trying to go and pick it earlier and hear from themselves directly. Not sure responses here  maybe much helpful. Print out the notification message or carry it along on your phone. Going earliest in the morning though saves you the long lines.

@Jolly Julie Thank you so much for the reply. I'll go on Monday morning next week.
