Exploring Portugal coast

Post new topic

My husband and I visited Porto from the U.S. in September, we took a trip along the Douro River and fell in love with Portugal and the people.  We are returning in January 2023 and flying into Lisbon. We are taking five weeks to explore the coast line. We want to visit Faro, Lagos, Lisbon, Nazare’ , Figueroa da Foz, Aveiro and then up to Porto. Our plan is to find a spot we love to spend November through April the following year.  Does anyone have advice on where to stay in any of these areas. We would like to work with a low budget for lodging on this trip. Thank you very much for any tips or assistance anyone could provide.

Come out the front of Lisbon airport, walk down the hill towards the river and you'll find train and coach station. Get to Caldas da Rainha for some accomodation    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caldas_da_Rainha

from there it's local trains/bus to Peniche, Nazare, Figueroa da Foz, Salir do Porto, Obidos lagoon and slightly further to Coimbra,   Tomar  etc.
