I am unable to login to the SNS portal.

I think my phone number is the problem because it has not been registered with the SNS.

1.    Aceder ao formulário de autenticação e preencher os seus dados (Número de Utente de Saúde, Data de nascimento e Contacto de telemóvel) para que seja possível confirmar a sua identidade;

2.    Preencher o código que lhe foi enviado por SMS, para o seu contacto de telemóvel associado no Registo Nacional de Utentes.

How to authenticate with Health User Number

You can access it using an access code (SMS token) sent to your mobile phone number associated with the National Users Registry. In order for the access code to be sent to you for authentication, you need to have the mobile phone contact associated with your Health User Number in the RNU (National User Registry). To authenticate via Health User Number you need:

1. Access the authentication form and fill in your data (Health User Number, Date of Birth and Mobile Phone Contact) so that you can confirm your identity;

2. Fill in the code sent to you by SMS, to your mobile phone number associated with the National

I cannot find the website to enter my details.  Does anyone know where it is?

We discovered that the Utente number we were given is temporary. Found this out when we went to login on SNS online and for medical exam needed to exchange driver’s license.

We had to return to our Centro de Saude and they’ve put our application forward to change to permanent. Could take weeks sadly.

You may want to check yours.

I didn't know there was a temporary NHS user number. First time I've heard it ...

@JohnnyPT

yes a few of our friends who attend Portuguese classes with us have found the same problem.

It’s been over 4 weeks waiting for them so far.

We all have to go up to the Centro de Saude each week to check if it’s been processed.

@JohnnyPT I did walk into our local Saude once again to check on the status of my SNS Number (I have been doing this weekly for 2 months since I received my Residency Card!) and the lady who usually tells us it will be a few more weeks was busy on the phone. Her Associate was kind and assisted us. I walked out with my SNS Number!

I had the Physical for my Driver’s License exchange already, so I forwarded my SNS Number to the Physician to upload into the IMT website.

The IMT website wouldn’t accept my SNS Number, stating that it was Not Activated!

Now I am back to square 1 trying to figure out how/who to activate it! I only have a few more weeks before I will be driving illegally!

@blackeagledancin,

You have to go to your local health centre again and question that. Sometimes you have to be rude in those services. Insist on the health centre until your problem is solved or a reasonable explanation for the problem is given. Ask for the complaints book (livro de reclamações) and make a written complaint.
