I am actually not a newbie in Senegal. I have been living back and forth between the US, Europe and Senegal

I have no idea how to do this! So...I am just going to wing it. My name is Cheikh Mbacké. I am a newbie on the Senegal forum, but not in Senegal. I am originally from here but grew up and went to school in the US. I am a cell biologist and Sr. consultant in the biotech/Parma industry in the US transitioning back to Senegal.

I am french and I arrived in Senegal two months ago. The country is beautiful but not always easy when you are a newbie and know no one !

I am currently living in Saly but I am looking for a furnished house near the Liberté 6 extension. By the way, it's really hard to find a place to live 😭😭😭😭

I haven't had the chance to visit and to discover the cultural life but I am looking for it and to meet new people.

Greetings Cheikh:  We may have a few things in common.  I've being going back and forth to Senegal for about 55 years (!!) and for the last 23, spend 3 or 4 months of the year in a house I built with a Senegalese family I"m close to, in the Mbour area.  I've watched this region grow incredibly - in fact, it's been a boom in housing for years. Transitioning back from the US is a wonderful journey - and I've accompanied a few close friends who've done it or are doing it now.  All after many years in the US. I love living in Senegal, speak Wolof and French and feel at peace there.  I also spend maybe 8 months in DC where I live in a modest townhouse - and like that life too!  I couldn't live without Senegal though.
