New Mask Or Vac Cert at BDO

Post new topic

talamban

Went to BDO SM City Mall in Cebu yesterday. Surprised that Security Guard asked me to wear a face mask before entering. When I told him that I do not have a mask anymore; he asked to see my Covid Vaccination Certificate; which I had with me. Showed it to him, and of course he did not take the time to review it - just waived me in. I asked him and another SG when this began, since I had been to this Branch a couple of weeks prior without this hassle. They acted like they did not understand the question and just ignored me. I searched Google and BDO Facebook site this morning and could not find anything on this. Anyone else seeing a return to Insanity on Mask Wearing?

No... but as usual... in Philippines they are a monkey see monkey do country... regardless of facts or any common sense.  So because China has been in the news lately with the covid flavor of the month bs... I am not surprised to hear this...

I have no problem with wearing a mask in a mall. The outbreak in China would be reasonable cause for precautions in my opinion, due to the number of people infected there, and going back and forth. When I came in this month, and we were in Cebu, my gf told me we needed to wear the mask in Ayala, so apparently it's the policy.

If I were asked to wear a cloth mask, I would. If I were asked to wear a clear plastic face shield, I would say "But I don't ride a motorbike". I think this is what's cumin down the pike.. is the requirement once again of a full face shield...THKS TO CHINA!!!!!  🤔 😈

And as far as I know, Chinese entering the Philippines do not need to show a negative PCR test as in many other countries.

I think that’s correct, and its ridiculous not to require it. Passengers on one of the first planes out of China (to Italy) were tested and almost half the plane tested positive. And now it’s Lunar New Year and they're all traveling. Just like in 2020. Fortunately we have vaccines now.

@danfinn we don't either

Assuming you are from a country other than the one you are currently living in, that may be true. Many countries will not stand up against the People's Republic for fear of political/trade retribution. Others are more concerned about the health of their population.

I doubt it, but stranger things have happened. We live in an age of increased paranoia - especially around all of these diseases that have come to surface and have plagued how we interact.

It could be just a matter of time before we see something far worse than what COVID brought to the earth, but I want to remain optimistic.

As far as facemasks go, i still wear it wherever I am travelling to or what establishments I am visiting. I am actually surprised by the amount of people I see in such instances that are NOT wearing facemasks any longer.....its too soon, in my opinion.

perhaps it's just out of habit or my increased sensitivity to personal hygiene. I don't see a future in the near-horizon without wearing a facemask, but that is just me.
